Probably, but not recently. Over the last few years.
Thousands of farmers have been chased from farms due to insecurity.

This phenomena of 'cheap' food in the north is not all rosy. It also tells you that getting /making N100 in Bauchi is as hard as making N300 or N500 in say, Lagos. Low cost of living is a function of low wages not necessarily a miracle.

Which support? I am a northerner who owns my own farms, but I tell you most sincerely that no support comes anywhere. Everybody does it by themselves.

I don't quite agree with you.I'm here in Benue state where food is shipped all across Nigeria.I know this even better because my house is close to the highway down south.Our markets are also dominated by easterners buying all manner of foodstuffs.We here don't receive any form of government support.I think what works for us here is extremely cheap labor and favourable weather in terms of average rainfall as opposed to the South with too much rain which most crops like grains and rice don't like

My Benue labourer just went back today. Here in Delta state, we hire them to come and work for us on yearly basis. #150k and feeding for a year. Cheap labour I must say.

Here in South West are greedy set of people. They intentionally sell foodstuffs at exorbitant prices and that's the reason why we are complaining about hike in food prices till today in South West

Farming is not as simple as that. Topography matters a lot. Farming rice in my area is a waste of effort and not government help can change that. However, cassava, plantain pinapple are doing extreamly well here.

I farm these, plus oil palm plantation, and hire labourers from Benue on yearly basis to work on the farm.

How much is plantain sold in Benue? Also price of a bag of garri and pinapple?

You ran from herdsmen? You are a coward. Benue is worst off than anywhere in the South in terms of herdsmen troubles.
