How can a bank give out 4.5 billion naira depositors funds as loan to a non profit organization a church and expect repayment, this is ridiculous, is the CBN no longer supervising these banks anymore? How can such transaction occur without the approval of the CBN? We are sick in this country.

Very very sick, most likely he is close to the managing director or board members of that bank .I dont know the credit approval limit for wema bank but that amount of money should be approved by either a management credit committee or the board credit committee. We all know must times this people are made up of pupets of either the MD or the chairman of the bank so naturally the loan request will fly.

When you present meaningful loan request to fund viable sector it will be turned down because money has not exchanged hands.Just look at what a bank approved. I have been so pissed off since early this month when the news broke out.

Same blog giving the news also saying it can't be verified

The alleged N4.5 billion loan Legit.ng cannot independently verify the news but sources say the bank has initiated moves to get the loan repaid
There is one thing in that sentence: "bank has initiated moves to get the loan repaid". This is what the paper couldn't verify but they are sure the church is owing.

Same questions I asked. N4.5bn to a single obligor for a nonprofit organisation. No bank can do that . CBN must be involved in this type of transactions. These blogging business is gradually becoming a blackmailing medium. Fake News purveyors must be jailed .
