grin @ Daboomb. I’ve tried quoting u 2ice but without success. So I decided to reply dis way.
grin Nigeria is not Canada. The laws are different. In America for instance, crude oil belongs to d individual on who’s land it’s mined. In Nigeria it belongs to the federal government.
Since d 70s all lands in Nigeria belongs to the government. Tenement rate and land use charge are not taxes really. But something like rent paid to the government for the use of the land. Private estates in Nigeria are far from private. All the roads running thru every estate is property of the local government in its vicinity. They all pay a STREET BLOCK rate, for erecting a gate blocking the road. The government can uproot it anytime. The only private thing in a private estate are the individual’s buildings. That’s d law

grin @ Daboomb.
Big man is beside the issue. Right of entry is the germane issue here. Has d CP the right to enter the estate? Yes he has right by law. A police constable is empowered by law to enter the estate within working hours WITHOUT LET OR HINDRANCE. The CP claimed he was in company of escorts fully cladded in uniforms and he was duly identified for a period of 30mins. The estate is required by law to grant entrance without further ado.
The police works round the clock and are duty even in a social function. The best CPs in Lagos had been the club going ones. Cos that’s were the criminals retire to. It’s a great place to start crime fight.

Again in the same Yankee, police stop cars which are personal properties and search them randomly why flashing only their IDs. High speed chase is even common there, sometime resulting to death. We hate the police here, they are not innocent but majority of the citizens are not any better.
I’m all you said this is the only thing I picked, everywhere In the world the police has the right to chase or search ur car if they sense crime or danger, which is not the case here in Nigeria they search base on what they will get from u… and by the way u said ur car is ur private property yeah it is, but mind u the car is on a public road which warrant them to search u or chase u if u run ( why will anyone run if not guilty of something?).. Am estate is a private property, that why they have their own security, go use the internet and check the meaning of an Estate, unless it has a different meaning in naij… have a blessed day sir or ma

This idiot keeps exposing his ignorance, does not know that all lands belong to government, you are only an occupant. Land in Nigeria is never bought or sold, talkless of government buying land. No slowpoke, if Government wants to put something near a public street near you, they will revoke your occupancy and compensate you for loss of building and economic value, not land.

What you are trading is occupancy.
Nobody occupies a public road, weather in an estate or not.

In case you are still lost, While you are talking of an estate, the police is talking about public road running through your estate. Get a grip. Maybe I should repeat slowly so you can understand.

Can you imagine this demented fellow taking advantage of my wrong use of the word 'buy' to promote his malady?

The post was made in a hurry. That word should have correctly been interpreted as 'Compensate' by an intelligent and mentally fit reader.

I already said I wouldn't reply this deranged fellow who comes online to insult elders only because he has a defective reasoning tendency that puts him in conflict with sound minds.

Can you see how he has misinterpreted the Land Use Act of 1978 to mean that since all land belongs to government, that means all lands are public property in Nigeria. The fool is saying by implication that there are no private properties in Nigeria because all lands are government land. Even his filty bedroom is public property!

This psychiatric patient does not know that as long as your C of O remains valid, your land or house remains private property until it is revoked. Government has no authority over such property until the C of O is revoked. Just as landlord has no authority over his tenant's apartment until he is so authorized by the court.

The Magodo landlord association hold the C of Os to the entire estate. That makes the estate a private property until their C of O is revoked.

These types of half-baked minds are the ones who come into government to infringe on human rights thinking that government owns the lives of everyone.

I just decided to clear the air on the word 'buy' which I mistakenly inserted into my last post. I don't reply lunatics, lest I be taken to be one of them.

Olodo Elder, I just taught you something you had no clue about, but you have an excuse cheesy grin grin cheesy grin cheesy
Being an elder does not make you all knowledgeable nor right, it only means you are advanced in age and learning is a lifelong process. Next time you come across things you obviously have little clue about, take a backseat and learn first before posting.

Magodo Landlord's Association is an Association of individuals who have Cof O. There is no CofO in the name of Magodo Landlords Association, stop deceiving yourself, its just a mere Association.

If you are still confused, look at the name, its an Association of many Landlords, hence the area is a public scheme, call it estate or what not. The fact that the state recognises your occupancy individually, means your rights are well seperated before the law. What is private to each individual is his residence, any space, roads, communes shared with others is public.

In your next quote, say Thank you "GerogeI" for the education

You still haven't said what is wrong in delaying the CP. What makes the security guard "ordinary"? Can u pls tell us who is qualified to clean the CPs shoes and what that qualification might be? How does asking the CP to wait while they confirm where he is going to a crime as far as the statute books of Nigeria is concerned?

An ordinary private security guards want to confirm where the CP of a state is going to in an estate and you kept him and his entourage waiting for 30 MINUTES and u saw nothing wrong with that? Haba. Make we dey use our brain dey reason now. CP na your mate? So if a Governor or even the President come there with their entourage, they will still stop them for 30 minutes to confirm where they are going abi?

Ekpeitit:
Is this a private estate ?
If so what makes the Police Commissioner think that he can not be stopped from entering the estate?
Does the CP live at the estate?
Does the CP have the right to enter someone's private estate without permission?
Can the CP enter my house without my permission?
I need answers to these questions immediately.

Where did u read that CP was entering someone's house and where did you also read that it was a private estate? Read well before typing rubbish.
