There is nothing like Iboland. It is Igboland.
backbencher:

The same type of energy theft happens all over the country

Not just in iboland. And it is one of the reasons why we don't have light. People not paying their bills and starving the power sector of much needed funds

Drop the bigotry. This is everyone's problem and everyone's responsibility.

It happens everywhere. It's so bad that when you tell people to do the right thing you look plain stupid.
the prepaid meters read faster than the way it should. The distribution companies are all crooks. The average Nigerian home shouldn't gulp more than 5000-10000 per month on prepaid. How this things tend to skyrocket with little power usage puzzles everyone. These meters are programmed by the discos to shortchanged Nigerians.

If electricity is dis expensive, I dint think the average white home will have all the basic facility they enjoy.

It happened to us at first, but when we changed all our light bulb to 3watt and some 5wt,
(That's the highest)
Regulate our refrigerator, turn on light only when it's needed and change over when everyone leaves the house.
Omo na that time the prepaid meter begin make heavy sense.
Just avoid water heater and electric cooker,
You should be fine.
Adapting to change is never easy

People that haven't been to SE are here commenting rubbish. EEDC Is notorious for estimated billing. It will take you ages to get prepaid meter.

It happens everywhere, yes. But the reason why we don't have adequate light is not that, even DISCOS are not investing, they're just smiling to the banks everyday

What do you call EEDC's estimated billing of customers?
What do you call EEDC continuos billing even after Disconnection of a customer? What do you call EEDC's billing no matter how long there was no light?

with all these rationing, then what is the essence of the light? The light is meant to be enjoyed not a curse. The average white family uses all forms of heaters and coolers. Fridge and many other home appliances. If light is this expensive, dey won't enjoy these basics of life. Nigeria discos are all thieves.

I don't think there's any white home dat doesn't have electric cookers.

EEDC is a criminal organisation. They are the thieves.

EEDC has refused to provide prepaid Meters to their customers who are willing and ready to pay even at high cost.

EEDC distributed Postpaid Meters to thousands of customers who were asking for prepaid Meters during the first phase of the FG metering program. Why did EEDC choose to distribute postpaid Meters instead of prepaid Meters that customers are asking for?
Was it postpaid Meters that the FG made provision for?
Well, we already know why.

And after installing the postpaid Meters, EEDC still continued to charge the Metered (postpaid Metered) customers by estimation even though the Meters are readable.

Now, Who are the thieves, the customers or EEDC?

They hardly give light in Enugu,...and the bill is very exorbitant,..Imagine one room tenant paying 2k and will get light for 2 hrs two or three times in a week,..they break people's bulbs for leaving them on in the afternoon,..it's more like the people are slaves to EEDC,...the whole thing is frustrating in Enugu,..
