To make you understand, I've been beaten with twisted electric wire - the thick one that brings light from the pole to the house, to the extent that on one occasion the ending of the wire landed on one of my eyes. It was blood shoot that I was rejected by several eye clinics in Lagos. I could have gone blind if not for an hospital like that in Oshodi where I was admitted for 7 days. The crime? I skipped summer lessons because I was scared to tell the teacher that my parent said the fees would be paid later.

Another, I served punishment (up down or sew machine. A kind of frog jump but you'll be on a spot) for several hours into the night and after, serious beating. Reason? My younger ones removed their new doll my mother bought them from the package. Till today, I don't know why I was punished for that.


Another on I was flogged, pursued on the street while I'm being called thief, I had no choice but to return into the room to continue with the beating instead of disgracing myself in the street. I was hit with a hoe on the head with blood splashing of our white wardrobe (I still come across hidden blood stain in several places on the wardrobe weeks after the incident) before the beating stopped. Reason? No, I didn't steal anything. I was only making a stand for my new found faith.


See op ehn, this are just few, very few. If not that as they say time heals the heart, and also the many benefits I got from my parents...

I know I deserved some punishment. On the other hand, there are some of my naughty deeds that surprisingly went unpunished.

For example I once removed the ceiling fan regulator from the wall to regulate a rotor, connecting it to battery. (I learnt from there that tiger battery can give you as shock with that thing)
Also, I removed the rotor from that olden days big black disc player, rendering it useless. And many more. No one was even questioned to my greatest surprise.

I also realized from many people's comments here that my childhood isn't unusual, but I think mine was a bit above the 'generation average'.

1. When I was younger, I had this potential of being an engineer. You know, I made battery-powered fans, movable battery cars with that thing that usually rotates inside DVD, lamps using led bulbs powered by battery...name it! So I was known as sb who connects!

In fact, I could draw well too. The artistic/scientific urge was just overdue that I began to feel I was an inventor already that I no know wetin carry me enter my papa car go lose en car stereo comot that thing wey dey rotate. I chop beating that day say after I sleep wake, nobody talk to me I begin sweep the whole house, wash plates, go back to sleep again. My mum said “eh ehn, the evil spirit has gone out.”

When I remember that singular event, I cannot help but laugh.

2. Like earlier mentioned, I was the connector. One day, I really didn't know what happened to the compound light. Of course, I only do electronics...I don't touch electric..but Mr Base-K (as we called him) said I could be the one who disconnected the wire and cut it cos he saw me there.

You know there is an allegation that could tear your soul? The type that makes tears flow freely? That was it. I didn't even go near the wire! But I was flogged like hell. Normal normal, my dad don already dey find reason to flog..so it came on a platter.

I swore then to kill Base-K. I hated him with so much passion. It was until about five years later in school when I reunited with my friend from the compound that I came to understand it was his dad who cut the wire to help elongate his gen wire. How that part of their discussion fitted the scene of what happened that day was perfect cos it so dotted the lines. I remembered I saw the dad with a gen switch! I felt I had to vindicate myself and hurried back home with the news only for my dad to be like “is it because of an old event that happened that I can't even remember you called me?”

I just dey read una comments and i see say una enjoy when una young. My own dad wan use jack beat me when i still young. And he don beat me to the point wey i faint. E get beating wey i never chop for him hand. Abi e get wetin he never stone me with and many more horrific beatings which i still dey see the scars for my body. I stubborn then make i no lie and No be say na bad guy but na no nonsense man. Na small thing dey make am vex.

Haaa... My mama gimme ₦100 to go buy yam, na so me carry the money go buy fried yam from the local fries seller wey dey our area.. You needed to see how she packaged the whole thing inside three different nylons.. Yam just full everywhere na so me begin dey jog go house mk i go give my mumsy her fries... To cut the long story short, that na the first day wey i faint. Turns out what my mom wanted was a tuber of yam and not fries..

Its when I was still in secondary school maybe Js1 or so, I and my friend ( landlords child ) to be precised went to cinema to watch film tho I only escorted him before I could know it was like 10pm , damnn niggarrr there this cane my dad normally use on us anytime we messup , and it was my elder bro that brought that cable .

That day was the first time my dad used that cane on me the next day I couldn't go to school I can't even sit down, my back, my bum bum ,my arms were hurting due to enough floggings , when I came back house my mum and my sisters were like ehe shebi u say u no dey hear word go inside dad is waiting for u , already am shivering like hell, and as my dad started flogging me na still them mum and sis's come dey like ahh dad the beatings is ok.

I can relate with what you experienced, and I was also punished severally for things that others do normally but because of that I was extremely careful with things that will put me into real trouble, and as a result of that I do things on my own, that if at all they get to know I will take the secret to death and deny doing it, as a result I became a lone ranger and I cover my tracks wella.

I got a great skin or body system I go talk and I don't always have scars no matter how deep a cut I have on any part of my body it will always heal completely. And my father's favourite sentence is "I will give you mark that you will show to your grand children". The one I thought I will have was one at the back of my neck, one hit from 4 mouth koboko peeled the skin and caused a deep gash pattern in four places, but it healed completely without trace.

Oga demonic possession like how, the only issue I have with them is thier religious inclination which you are also towing with your instance of demonic possession, any other thing I am cool, it's just that I rarely have friends and that's because we were restricted from making friends and not as a result of the beating we even still make joke out of it just two days ago, when my mum was telling a younger couple not to beat their son, I just told her that it's her son beat him but not in an inappropriate way and she should not listen to my mum as I am a living witness of her severe beating.
And you won't want to see me being jovial with children, I don't beat them and I have countless numbers of them always coming to me as they see me as someone they are comfortable with.
