Only ex convict pardoned by the President can contest, people like Bode George and Diepreye Alamieyeseigha pardoned by Goodluck Jonathan, or lill Wayne pardoned by Trump

An ex-convict can not contest for elections except pardoned by the President/C-in-C if a federal case, or the State Governor if it is a State case, like in the case of OBJ who was pardoned by Abdulsalam Abubakar, Funke Akindele and her husband pardoned by Sanwoolu and so many other examples like Salihu Buhari, Alams, etc

Boy George did not need a pardon as his conviction was subsequently quashed by the Supreme Court

Yes an exconvict can seek election if he is pardoned by the President, or if his conviction was overturned by the courts

Orji Uzo Kalu was convicted of corruption but his conviction was overturned by the supreme court and he is today running for president

You are right to an extent but OUK's conviction was not completely overturned by the Supreme Court and set free; his conviction was quashed/cancelled due to technicalities - the Supreme Court agreed that the trial judge shouldn't have convicted him and others because the trial judge was elevated/promoted to superior court hence the case should have been assigned to another judge to start abinito/afresh

In essence, OUK and his co-accused will be charged before another trial judge to start the case afresh (but don't ask me when pls grin)

He would have become president before his accusers come with fresh charges since it's taking them soo long to do that
