Kumuyi should free those single, over aged girls and let them go and get married. He should remove those church doctrines thar are holding them down
Re: Prince Dele Banjo Protests At Deeper Life Headquarters Over Unconventional Music by Gorgeous1guy(m): 12:48pm On Jan 23, 2022
No one forces u or any other person to attend a particular church. If u don't feel comfortable about the mode of worship or whatever being dictated by the head, better move to another church where u think/feel u can grow.
Protest, strike action etc only exists in the secular world, in the church it is nothing but rebellion.
Don't rebel against God so u won't be destroyed so so soon.
You are not the one God gave the vision of deeper life to so, who are you to now correct the visioner. It is between him and his God. The entrance/ door to other churches where u think follows God"s doctrine is always open.
Note: I am not a deeper life member or intend to be one... Just stating what's right for u to do instead of being involved in rebellion only.

Ask dem to define holiness and you would be shocked.
They are so tied to religious activities that they fail to follow the move of God on the end time.

They are telling us that a minister like Dunsin Oyekan is too world to sing in their program.... Funny

The reason why he's inviting those gospel ministers is to bring more souls into the kingdom of God, if he has read about those who he has invited, all of them are all born again, and they have their testimonies about their salvation, I was watching a program on how God called Mr Don Meon into the music ministry and it was really touching, so he should find time to read about the Gospel ministers he has invited so far and if he does not agree with him, he should find time to see him in person, the protest to me is unnecessary, he should focus more on the message and not on church traditions

The problem here is that your church spent years condemning other ministries instead of preaching Jesus. They created thousands of doctrines that were not biblical. They forgot John 3:17.
Today they are reaping what that sow.
Personally for me I can't go to a boring church, in God's presence there should be joy. Do you know it's like a crime to speak in tongues in your church? If you speak in tongues the other bethrens will be looking like you as if you just murdered someone.

Personally i will disagree with u

Speaking in tongues is good

But there should be moderation in the church
We dont condemn tongue .. but rather limitations to prevent abuse

You see churches on top tongues falling down knacking their head on tables and chair
Violence and disorderliness in the church....that we dont want

Speak in tongue in ur rooms ..and if perhaps you move spiritually

Speak it inwardly no come cause violence fot church or hold it

On this sir ..i disagree

We occasionally preach about these gift of spirits...it hasnot been condemn b4

Any doctrine not drawn from the Bible go always cause katakata.

It's high time people turn to God alone because if people start to dey look all these pastors ehn.... It won't be nice at all

People will turn to God but they need directions, spiritual role models, people with exemplary lifestyles. You see this present Nigerian society worships money and you know well say devil too has means of making people stinkingly rich.
Why do you think Nigerian churches easily gives out post of elders and pastors to people with money especially political appointess and business men? They don't want to know the source of the money.

Why do you think people collect various amounts of money ranging from 5k to 2k to 1k to sell their vote for 4 years.

Our moral consciousness as a society is dead and our present spiritual leaders have not been helping matters.

We have a lot of hypocrites who are devils inward but appearing like angels outside. Most of these people when you go close to them have nothing to right home about

Are you minding them. Funny enough, the choir sing the songs of these Artists in their services.

I was at Ayobo many many years ago for their youth success camp and their choir sang "sing out, the Lord is near" by Ron Kenoly. Now if Kumuyi invites Ron Kenoly to the church now, they will protest.

The catholic Church you mentioned also create time for fun. They play all forms of music in such programs.
I remember vividly as a child that I got to see the entire PAPA AJASCO crew performed in such program. Then they played TONY TETWILA`s song and MAKOSA.
So,bringing CATHOLIC church Into this discussion to prove your point is uncalled for.

Christianity would definitely evolve with time but, the gospel remains the same for every bible believing church

The anti-indecency campaigner and deeper life member, Prince Dele Banjo has staged a peaceful protest at the Deeper Life Headquarters at Gbagada, Lagos.

The protest is in connection with the introduction of unconventional music to Deeper Life.

Prince Dele Banjo stated:

"We are surprised about the introduction of unconventional music as well as the invitation of Gospel rock stars to Deeper Life. We are also surprised about the invitation of local Christian musicians that are not advocates of modesty to deeper life.

We are surprised because pastor Kumuyi who is our father in the Lord did not raise us his children with such music. Instead, he raised us with modesty, holiness and the belief that we should worship God with our book of hymns alone using low toned and humble songs.

Pastor Kumuyi was the one that taught us all we know about modesty and holiness, so we are surprised that our teacher is changing direction and he is inviting international Gospel rock stars and local musicians that are not advocates of modesty to come and sing at deeper life.

We strongly believe that as a holiness church, deeper life ought to stick with our choir and our God given hymn book alone. We don't need unnecessary noise from these American gospel rockstars and these local Christian musicians.

Our God given and humble choir at deeper life that consists of those lovely teenagers, keyboardists and trumpeters is enough for us at deeper life.

Since he is our father in the Lord, we hereby request an explanation from him; we want to our dear father in the Lord to defend the invitation of rockstars and local Christian musicians that are not advocates of modesty.

We hold in our hands the book of hymns in order to prove to everyone that all we need in deeper life is our God given book of hymns.

Thank you very much"

These so called "worldly rock star musician" were birthed by the HolyGhost to stir through songs the heart of believers to the possibilities of God. Break free from the shackles of religion and embrace the end time revival. The Church of Christ is Uniting and self righteous religious individuals will not stop her. Brother, as a young man born in Deeper life Bible Church in the Early 80's and Grommed in DLBC until 2004 when I moved to the The Lords Chosen, I must say you have a very Valid Protest!

I Perceive GOD is using you to Pass a Very Strong Message to HIS Church and HIS servant. The ways of GOD ALMIGHTY are not the ways of Men.
The ALMIGHTY HOLY GOD will not change HIS Standard because of a Changing World.

I Pray HIS Servant and one of the Core Holiness Apostles and Generals of this Generation, Pastor WF Kumuyi takes note of this Peaceful Protest.

Hmmm! What a sad moment this will be for Pas WF KUMUYI. To have raised you all in the way and manner he did!

It's ironic and laughable that when this same man was teaching you all he did, you didn't reject his teaching! How come you have now come to know better than him?

The thought he gave you the authentic gospel, but having realized that he was wrong and wanted to correct himself before facing his maker, you're saying he's wrong! Good luck to you all.

If you want to disagree with him, it's your right to do so! However, on what basis will be your disagreement? If you contend that is wrong in what he's teaching you now, how come you're sure that he wasn't wrong in the former things he taught you.

For instance, Baba told all of you that the t.v. is a devil box, and nobody should touch it, however now its a different ball game entirely! Yes not only preaching on the same t.v. but it's like Deeper Life has a t.v. channel now! Why are you guys connecting to the headquarters online to hear him preach?

I took this long post to advise you guys to leave religion alone and embrace the word of God!

Be like the Bereans by picking your bible to read with clear mind before joining protest!

God bless you.

I was shocked too to see Nathaniel bassey in their crusade handbill and was over shocked when kumuyi addressed him as evangelist bassey on the crusage ground when hymns could have been sung by the glorious choir of the church. Nathaniel bassey is not a member. Why rate him above church choir? I see publicity sake

Were the old hymns you are singing not composed by human? Must all Gospel songs be Hymn song? What if God decided to use people of our generation (like Nathaniel Bassey, Don Moen etc) to compose new songs, will that be unholy? As it is written "Sing unto him a new song; play skilfully with a loud noise."- Psalm 33:3

Around 1990s my uncle had a TV but not in his sittingroom because he is a member of this said church that disallowed the use of TV sets during that time. Ironically the church is one of the first churches in Nigeria to embrace the use of Satellite in broadcasting their services....

Main reason why you should follow God and not man because man will definitely derail as a result of the fallibility of the human nature. Funny enough a lot of the members don't even have an understanding of why certain doctrines were laid in the church. They just swallow it without even praying about them and asking God for confirmation. Just recently [b]God had opened my eyes to see that a lot of these songs we sing are not accepted as a lot of the composers are just fame seekers and noise makers. You're not yet truly born again and thoroughly sanctified.
The Bible commands all true believers to "contend for the faith once delivered to the saints." and to "seek the old path and walk in it."
Do you want to know the response of the people to God that time?
It's just the same as your own. They said "No, we will not walk in the old way."
The easiest way to end up in Hell is to prefer current, trending things to ancient ones.
Shalom.
