Backslide? You mean his invitations to popular singers like Don Moen, the other Nataniel man among others is cause to conclude he has backslidden? Neverminding the fact that the doctrines and traditions of his church are of men and not of God, one of them being the lie that Salvation comes at no cost to you? undecided

And you are not aware that, down the line like 10 years ago, even if heaven and earth wants to fall he kumuyi can never invite someone like Don moon or Nathaniel who practices his gospel music with drums which is a taboo in deeper life to be invited in their congregation to minister.

Gospel2Day:

You're not yet truly born again and thoroughly sanctified.
The Bible commands all true believers to "contend for the faith once delivered to the saints." and to "seek the old path and walk in it."
Do you want to know the response of the people to God that time?
It's just the same as your own. They said "No, we will not walk in the old way."
The easiest way to end up in Hell is to prefer current, trending things to ancient ones.
Shalom.
how is gospel music from gifted nigerian a trending stuff sir

Okay ..those musics in our GHZ were largely composed in late ,19th

The man is saying the truth but 21st century youths will tag him as an extremist. If you wanna dance and party go to the club. Church is meant for teaching the word of God. I’m Muslim and I don’t condone any form of worldly things into religion. Why can’t man stick to the teachings and way of life of the prophets in the Bible and Quran? Can’t believe Pastor Kumuyi going off the rail coz Deeper life is one of the Christian churches I respect as a Muslim.

"Pastor Kumuyi was the one that taught us all we know about modesty and holiness, so we are surprised that our teacher is changing direction and he is inviting international Gospel rock stars and local musicians that are not advocates of modesty to come and sing at deeper life."

What kind of modesty are you talking about? Because There are two types of modesty: physical modesty and spiritual modesty. Physical modesty is all about the way you dress and appear physically. Physical modesty does not take you to heaven. What takes you to heaven is your spiritual modesty, The righteousness of your mind.

People have used physical modesty (like not wearing earrings, not fixing artificial hairs etc) as a doctrine in church to deceive and eliminate people who are hungry for God's presence. An example is the case of Credonia Mwerinde of the Movement for Restoration of the Ten commandments in Uganda who ended up killing almost a thousand of her church member.

Spiritual modesty in our life, music we hear and our life style is what matters and not the type of song ( rock, hymn,r&b), who sang the song (European composer, nat Bassey, don Moen) and the age of a song( old or new).

Let the word of God enlighten you. "And David danced before the LORD with all his might; and David was girded with a linen ephod." 2 Samuel 6:14

Another one,
" And Miriam the prophetess, the sister of Aaron, took a timbrel in her hand; and all the women went out after her with timbrels and with dances."Exodus 15:20

AABBIIMM:
Just shut up. You that is an evangelist how many souls have you won to Christ?
You don't even know anything about the body of Christ on earth, you think it revolves around you alone abi?
Didn't Jesus say in John 10:16 KJV "And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd."
So, you think you're the only sheep.
Besides, are you the one they're praising? God deserves the highest praise.
That was how the Pharisees told Jesus to stop His disciples from shouting in Luke 19:37-40 KJV
And when he was come nigh, even now at the descent of the mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works that they had seen; [38] Saying, Blessed be the King that cometh in the name of the Lord: peace in heaven, and glory in the highest. [39] And some of the Pharisees from among the multitude said unto him, Master, rebuke thy disciples. [40] And he answered and said unto them, I tell you that, if these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out.

Your problem is that their music is loud and they shout and you think it is offensive to God right?
I think the scriptures answers it for you.
In fact, the Pharisees still acknowledged that they're Christ's disciples which is far better than your criticisms. I even read one of your religious bigots saying Dunsin Oyekan is worldly and carnal, and I really feel sorry for your askewed judgements. Who do you really think you are to call someone washed by Christ blood as carnal?
I don't think you read the Bible and I don't think you're submissive to the Holy Spirit.

I tire oh!

You know the problem i see with many of these Pharisees is Poverty of the mind spiritually and financially.

If some of them get exposed at least 5% of the travels that Kumuyi has been on. They would understand that the Kingdom of Heaven is for all who worship Christ in truth and Spirit and not just for your own denomination.

I'm a deeper life member.
just ignore some of these comments from ignorant minds.
The day I knew some deeper life members are big time hypocrites and the Pharisees Jesus talked about was when these gospel musicians were invited to the crusade starting from Don Moen. Bro when they started their music ministration you needed to see how most self acclaimed Christians hissed and sat down without singing or joining in the worship song, when Nathaniel Basset ministered, a young guy near me hissed and sat down and became angry, you need to see the way some of them condemned these musicians and deep down I was griefed in the spirit.
I almost left the church because of the attitude of their members. Honestly I couldn't endure it again but I had no other option than to continue in the church because of the preachings and messages of Pastor Kumuyi.
Honestly speaking most of these deeper life members have lost it

They hissed because people who glorified God but not in their denomination sang and you all are surprised why Satan is gaining ground in the lives of the youth for himself while the supposed children of light just like the 5 foolish virgins are so foolish and undiscerning that they practically hate those whom God is using in a modern way to worship and draw many to HIM. They instead want to follow tradition by signing only ancient hymns (I have nothing against Hymns. I love to sing them) but there should be a balance. In all we do if the intent is praising the true God then Don Meon, Nathaniel Bassey, etcetera are not condemned.

Do you know how many souls God has reached through their songs of praise unto HIM. I personally sometimes when I am down. I just open my phone and play their songs of worship to God connecting my phone to my audio speaker and listen and before you know it. The presence of God will come down and I will start speaking/praying to my Heavenly Father and digging into HIS word.

The devil is a trickster and knows how to put these Pharisees in front to stumble the faith of many weak breathen who are unable to discern between legalistic fruitless worship and the true worship of the Father.

I was groomed in Deeper life from my teenage to adulthood. I was at Ayobo, Deeper life Bible school and attended many workers meetings from 1985 to 1999.

The truth is that some things are falling apart. I don't know whether it's because of the age of our Daddy in the Lord. But his recent romance with politicians and other worldly minded musicians and individuals is raising alarms in the minds of his children both in Deeper life and other churches.

The protest is apt and valid
You members of the 80's are everything wrong with deeperlife. You guys always resist change and ur motto is Remove not the old landmark. You guys don't care about bringing the new generation of youth into the fold and how the world is evolving. In this last days the church is supposed to take charge and draw souls to the kingdom. I was born and brought up in deeperlife but I am currently in winners. All my siblings no longer attend deeperlife but we are all doing well spiritually. I left because I wasn't growing spiritually as I found alot of the things they do boring. If the church had half of d flexibility he has currently now I would still be there working to expand God's kingdom. Baba Kumuyi will soon join the Lord and if he left the church in the hands of ur like without making drastic changes deeper life will go the way of Faith Terbanacle, CAC Qua Iboe church and the likes. All the years of labouring would have gone down the drain. Baba has seen the future and u old members need to smell the coffee. It's the last days and the church of GOD must grow stronger until christ comes.

young man, I joined. Deeperlife in 1983 when I was just 5 years old and grew up singing hymns that have shapened my Christian walk today. But remember that all those years, pastor kumuyi never told us that singing other types of music that glorify God is sin, he rather recently, said that most of the laws and doctrines he put down was to control the people and make us keep to the modesty and holiness he has been called to preach. God is not angry that we sing praises to him anyhow, pastor kumuyi himself set down those laws and now that he is winding down, he has decided to release the people from his own bondage that God almighty didn't put the people. I am surprised u are protesting against music, why didn't u protest when the ban on television set (devil's box) was lifted? U enjoy watching TV now but u deprived us from watching TV as kids and missed out on so many great memories shared by our mates. This is 2022, Laslas na only u go remain for that church because all the young people will run away and by the time the last of the old ones die, church would have folded up, Rubbish. Kumuyi is right for correcting his errors, u protesters are crying more than the bereaved.

Exactly. They don't understand that devil is such a trickster who wants the whole thing to die in their generation. God is well able to raise through true worshippers not after their denomination tradition.

So the gospel artistes that were invited to sing at Deeper Life programs are going to hell fire and Pastor Kumuyi is now one of their accomplice?

Can we differentiate what it means to have true knowledge of Christ apart from being inclined towards religion?

Mr Righteousness, I'm disappointed in you sir. You actually belong to those who think righteousness is only by the garment you wear, the way you walk etc (salvation by work).

As long as the pastor is not telling people to go against the principles of Jesus, the rest of the traditions can rot away as they should.

just stick to your own beliefs, i was born and i grew up in deeper life, after denying myself all this year to some music you can't introduce it now..... It's wrong

I grew up in DCLM and I've been a worshipper all my life. But while growing up I realized some of the doctrines of our church are man-made and not Holy Spirit inspired.
I remember some years back around 2014 during question and answer time after our STS on a Sunday like this, Someone asked a question at IBTC, "Are all this contemporary musicians of today truly worshipping God and why is it that we don't invite them to our congregation. Pastor Kumuyi himself happened to answer that most of this musicians are singing for money and not to worship or glorify God.
So today, if he's inviting thesame people he has condemned in the past he should let us know the church is not offering them cash price to entertain her members.
If he is changing his stands he should do this with convincing explanation why there is need for that and not leave his flocks to figure out things in there own.

I agree with you 100%.

Wait o bro, which music did the G.S change in the church sef? Is it not in crusades that these ministers are invited?

Besides aren't this people vessels of God still being used to bless people mightily as well?

See, let's not get distracted by the major aim that the man of God is trying to achieve; these souls that's being gathered for the end time harvest

Any deeper life member that agrees with this man is a Satanist. Yes, Quote me anywhere!! A man of God is out passionately for souls and organizing crusades tirelessly sometimes even sponsoring them (take the IMPACT programme as an example), you're out here criticizing God's light that's been shown on people's hearts instead of appreciating him for the souls that are being won.
How many times have you gone for evangelism on your own?
Rubbish upon ingredient!!

I agree with you. Anyone that agrees with that pharisee protester is a big time Satanist. Satan through these blind vessels in the Church distract people from the main goal and love to divide the kingdom of God.

Many don't like talking about it, but truth is, Kumuyi deceived a lot of people.

There are so many problems with RCCG but one thing I like about the church is that they don't pretend they don't need money, in fact, RCCG love money and they don't hide it. In RCCG, you can't invite a pastor without sliding something into his pocket, we call it honorarium and its the standard.

Baba dey pay Pastors but will not pay gospel artiste, I guess it's safe to say the Deeper Life pastors on payroll don't love God but do it for the money also.

The obvious answer to your question is that these gospel artists were payed for their performance, same as the invited pastors. Some do reject the money tho but it's rare.

Karleb, i wouldn't go as far as saying Kumuyi deceived anyone but i agree that a lot of his doctrines and practices are man made.

The problem here is that your church spent years condemning other ministries instead of preaching Jesus. They created thousands of doctrines that were not biblical. They forgot John 3:17.
Today they are reaping what that sow.
Personally for me I can't go to a boring church, in God's presence there should be joy. Do you know it's like a crime to speak in tongues in your church? If you speak in tongues the other bethrens will be looking like you as if you just murdered someone.

The old Deeper life is beginning to look to me like some of these cults like Jehovah witness organization. They love to hate on those who sing songs to glorify the true God but in their privates. If you see the way all these Jehovah witnesses and Deeper life will be blasting secular songs by Davido, wizkid, etcetera. You self go fear. It is a tactic of the devil to work through them to make others hate the true worship of God because the person doesn't sing their denominational songs and thus make many youngsters glorify Satan instead.

It is not only blacks that infuse tradition & doctrines into religion, the Pharisee were masters in this. Jesus came to give us Christianity:Christ like behavior but like the Jewish, we always focus on strict observance of the traditional and written laws of man which is most time not progressive and archaic.

This is hypocrisy at its best and I wish this man will repent. People like this have the worst human character traits on earth, I have met a few like him...

But is the guy at fault? He was raised in deeper life and was thought that these kind of musicians are worldy all these while. Methink he deserves an explanation.
