He was wonderful at group stage... It will be hypocritical to rule that out...

They should start now to fish for a goal keeper because as far as what I saw yesterday goes, it's as good as nothing...

The technical team studied Nigeria perfectly.. that explained how they caged Simon... assuming maybe he removed him from that wing just to surprise them, and do some little changes here and there,... Anyways, it's over.. they should just go back to their prestigious clubs from there... And the local ones should sneak in at night... embarassed

I think Amaju Pinnick should be sacked as the president of NFF...He has held that position since 2014 and nothing to show for it,instead it is embezzlement upon embezzlement.
A director/president that takes pay cut from any coach appointed to the super eagles.

Make your papa go give the right to oversea the match now. Is that how you hopeless give others chances when they fail. Crazy de ya head.

Nevertheless, in order not to distract the players, Augustine Eguavoen should oversee our WC qualifiers against Ghana.

Mumu coach. Moses Simon and chukwueze were there displaying nonsense. He couldn't give them proper instructions. I have never seen players so shitty as the two wingers. Moss Simon thinks he's a Maradona or Messi. He had two or three players marking or tackling him everytime he holds the ball, yet he thinks he could dribble pass them. A simple square play or 1-2 pass would have done the magic, cos he would have drawn 2 - 3 players to him already. At least that's what we do with 2 - 3 man marking in FIFA or PES. Chukwueze and Moses Simon cost us.

Story for the God
Igbos seeking excuse for failure.
MikkySexy23:
Pinnick and his minnows in NFF have played Nigeria out of another competition. I knew this would happen the moment Eguavoen started getting results! Remember that they had a signed agreement with Paseiro. If Eguavoen actually wins, what do the NFF do? Pay off Paseiro in millions of dollars! So, the safe choice is for Eguavoen to lose and still keep his own job as technical director!!! Afterall sef, they gave Eguavoen the opportunity to coach in the first instance.

Thanks for coming Augustine.

You gave your best, it wasn't just enough.

Nobody to blame, that is just football.
No need apportioning blames to any player right now.

We were all in Eldorado watching the first 3 games, (Who wouldn't?!)
but reality came to check all of us at the end.

We hope to be at the top of our game like in the Golden days of the Glorious Super Eagles of 1994.

God bless Nigeria.

Addendum : We wrote the below 3 hours before the game started last night,
We pray it doesn't happen,
But Alas!
Wishes are not horses that beggars could ride!

We Rise.

Eguavoem stepped down as national footbal coach after a loss to Tunisha!
Good decision!
The most important job of a football coach is the kind changes he makes in the field.
Coach fEguavoem failed in that regard. I thank him for his service and hopefully, he would Find something else to do.

Augustine Eguavon is not particularly a successful coach going by accomplishments. But his bold performance at AFCON once again made a strong case for highly qualified indigenous coaches like Emmanuel Amunike, George Finidi, etc.

He was unlucky not to have Victor Osihmen, Dennis Emmanuel, Etebor, etc in the squad for selection. However, it must be said that rather than coach Eguavoen's tactics, it was team spirit and of course individual player form that took us far during group stage. When tactics were badly needed at KO stage, coach of Tunisian team showed superiority.

Nevertheless, in order not to distract the players, Augustine Eguavoen should oversee our WC qualifiers against Ghana.
About not having certain players in the team
We all know Tunisian had plenty missing too, so how did they overcome our fully fit players?

Tactics, tactics and tactics.

Removing two strikers at the same time? angry
I wish he had done that earlier cos I observed we had better chances in front of the opponent's goal after he did that.

2 people are marking Simon and coach couldn't advice him or rearrange the game.

Which good coach will bring in Iwobi in this kind of match?

Please stop giving excuses ... it’s good he has left

How awoniyi who played poorly against GB - forget that freak lucky goal - started this match is laughable .

His midfield could not even outplay the defensive Tunisians - who I don’t blame because most of their main starters and their coach was down with COVID

So I don’t know Nigeria’s excuse for not beating them .

He should have Sub’d awoniyi for Peter olayinka at half time so we could have an extra man in mid field for dummy runs which would encourage Chukwueze and Simon cut inside and shoot

I told people since the group stages

How can you have right footed player on the left and left footer on the Right and they are unable to play like inverted wingers... you know why? Because the useless 4-4-2 is outdated and even robben cannot play well when he’s surrounded by 2 players even before the ball gets to him.

Augustine Eguavoen acting responsibly. A lot of factors may have been responsible for Super Eagle's poor outing (including the popularly believed Buhari's phone call jinx to the players). But he did not try to shift blames to credibly deserving quarters, rather he took sole responsibility because he was responsible for the team, as the coach.

How I wish Nigerian politicians can be this reasonable too.

This super eagles can't go further in the worldcup even if we do qualify. The Nigeria Tunisia game is what we see in worldcup matches. We failed in our tactics.

The 2 wingers were pinned down most especially Simon.

Their positions ought to be changed especially Simon by bringing him in the middle thereby making the Tunisians defence open up as they come out to mark him.

We had lots of chances to score but nothing.

Thing is, we did not fail because of one tribe we failed because Nigeria is not good enough at football or any sports an has not been good enough for years. And Buhari has changed nothing since he took over

Even if we replaced the team with people from your tribe, the story is going to be the same.

As an example,is there an interschool football tournament in your hometown every year for identifying talent? When was the last time an npfl team won something at continental level?

I think with this outing, albeit bitter-sweet, Eguavoen has earned the respect of many Nigerians. He has a good head on those big shoulders of his - which is more I can say about Rohr and Nigeria's useless politicians.
