COMPAQ:

The intent is good, but the reality is that no road project can really help Lagos traffic. The number of vehicles on the road are simply too many and will overwhelm any new road project. It will cause bottlenecks for those going under the cane village towards Maryland bridge due to merging with new traffic coming from Opebi. It’s the same way removal of roundabouts on the Lekki axis seemed to work for a while, but we are now back to the same issue, although it could be argued that it would have been far worse now if the roundabouts had not been removed.

Ultimate for Lagos is the train system. That is the only real way to move large amounts of people effectively and efficiently. But the problem with that is that the middle class with their cars may still not give up the comfort and convenience of their cars.
The most critical rail to develop after the Red and Blue line will be the line that goes along the Lekki corridor because the Lekki peninsular is a pretty narrow strip, so it can serve a huge amount of people with a single line.
Agree with many of your views. Rail and efficient/safe water transport will ease Lagos of traffic hassles. As for Middle class, Creating parking lots and A little tax on parking anywhere on the island or Mainland will discourage obsession with driving. The good thing about this project is the alternative routes it provides.

Dude don't be dense Lagos by now should have been competing with the likes of Kigali and Johannesburg and even Casablanca. Lagos had a head start above these cities in terms of the oil boom Lagos had everything in terms of infrastructure but sadly Lagos cannot even compete with Cotonou(it is even an insult to them) they cannot compete with Monrovia or Freetown in terms of infrastructure. Dey there dey support mediocrity you are saying states that don't or cannot build rail stations do they have the population Lagos has or can they boast of the IGR Lagos has, yet roads in estates and streets in Lekki are building based on estate dues paid by people and not by Local government

When igbos talk about our people that were carved into other states you are the first to say we want to claim the state. But here you are wanting to use Yoruba solidarity to cheat Lagos indigenes out of their lands and what is theirs in Lagos. Hypocrisy is real ooooo

Despite this, you just can't compare this chap with Ambode in terms of major infrastructure.

Here's the difference, Ambode actually started projects from 0 level to completion.

114 roads in 20 LGAs + 37 LCDAs.
All modernized Bus stops from Lekki, to Iyana Oworo, to Oshodi, to Abule Ègbá, Ikeja, Alomosho were started from scratch and completed.

The flyover bridges at Ajah and Abule Ègbá were landmarks.

Airport Road, commissioned by Buhari

Oshodi Transport interchange.

I'm waiting for 30 major infrastructural projects started (not inherited) that Sanwoolu has completed himself.

Argue with facts and not sentiment

In terms of infrastructure
1st Fashola
2nd Ambode
3rd Tinubu
Tinubu simply placed d man there to be sapping Lagos to have enough money to pursue his presidential ambition.... Daz a master strategy from BAT,,but he can't be president

But it is a slum, by now it should be a disgrace that Lagos is still trying to compare itself with other states in Nigeria, Nairobi with a GDP far less that Lagos is far ahead with infrastructure, Kigali, Casablanca, Cairo and Johannesburg with far lesser GDP and IGR are far ahead than Lagos. Those administrator of those cities will be dreaming to have the kind of IGR Lagos has. Coupled with the fact that Lagos had been the capital territory for years. Ahhhh!!!!!!! You image launderers need to be ashamed Lagos cannot provide pipe borne water to it's residents cannot even boast of good roads at LCDA level. Most streets in Lekki are done by contributions from people and you say Lagos is no slum.

Lagos might be developing in a snail like pace. Which is quite sad. But the tortoise will catch up with the rabbit eventually......we will surely get there......

What is the population of Cotonou, Monrovia, Freetown, Kigali and the rest you mentioned.. The pressure on their infrastructures, at what rate are they growing... Besides the fact that you just lied by saying the level of infrastructure in Freetown, cotonou is higher than Lagos... No basis for comparison...If Lagos was to get to the level of infrastructure obtained in other parts of the developed world.. It will need about 6 billion USD (convert it to naira) yearly to be spent on infrastructure alone for the next 10 years.. How much is the budget of the state in total.
There are a lot of nonsense criticism of the efforts of LASG when it is obvious it is still the best Government in Nigeria.. Including the FG, it uses the funds available to improve the quality of life of Lagosians, the most accommodating state...
Welcoming to all Nigerians and even foreigners alike.
So the Lekki Regional Road for example, It is Estate due that is paying for it.. Funny.
You need to educate your mind to see the challenges Lagos faces.. No other State in the federation faces even half of it. Yet everyday.. Thousands more move into the city to find their footing.

Do you have a conscience at all? can you beat your chest and say that all the internal roads in lekki were built by government? why do you love to sell out yourselves for a morsel of Eba from all these corrupt politicians? Lagos doesn't need 6 billion dollars to get to the level of infrastructural development it ought to be. Jakande achieved so much with a very lean budget in Lagos. Even was about building a metro line, and till date no other governor except for Fashola has been able to match Jakande. Nigerians don't need white elephant spectacles we need projects that are economically sustainable.
6 billion dollars are you high? The reason why projects in Lagos are overestimated is because of corruption. If Lagos is serious about development and transparency, they should lift the secrecy behind their budgets let us know what all these projects cost in real terms. starting with this light rail project.

Comparing Jakande Nigeria when the Naira was stronger to today is silly, yes.. 6 billion dollars which is a fraction of what other developed cities of even less population spend on their infrastructures needs to spent annually in Lagos.. YES... All inner roads in the Lekki axis are built by governments (LG or State) the only roads constructed by Private estates are the few and far between.. And those can't even be called inner roads cuz their use are usually restricted I.e you can use them as a pass through. On Cost, it isn't stagnant, it changes with time.

Look that is a big lie. I live in lekki Streets that are not private estates are constructed by residents and they are not restricted at least most. Go to phase 1 most of the inner streets were constructed and refurbished based on contributions from residents.

Oga which ball did he lose sight of? Is it that he didn't complete any project? Or is it that he wasn't playing ball to Baba sòpe?

He abandoned the projects in the masterplan and started new ones.

Frankly, I have nothing against him doing right for his town, Epe. Still he could have continued with the rail, housing and hospital projects among others that had commenced under BRF.

Afterall, Sanwoolu didn't abandon any of his own projects and is still coping with others
