Very useless news.
1. Nurses are produced across Nursing Schools but without good treatments as the Doctors and other allied health workers. Their salaries compared to the workload is very annoying.
2. Why are they not rating Nurses with double qualifications and even more? If a Nurse have double qualification that should count as a specialist and the rating should be at par with BSc.
3. Not only BSc. Nurses are leaving the country. They are all leaving so if you want to show you care, the remuneration must be felt across.
4. I seriously blame the NANNM for poor representation and negotiation for their members.
5. Those old Nurses are too complacent and even maltreat the younger ones that they even believe they are learning under Doctors. Whereas, most of these Doctors you see secretly learn from the Nurses and those ones too don't bother to see their worths.
6. Abeg the matter is just annoying me jare.

The National Council of Establishment (NCE) in its ongoing 43rd meeting approved grade level 10 (CONHESS 9) as the entry point of University graduate nurses.

This was achieved through constant call for better renumeration for nurses by the National Association Nigeria Nurses and Midwives (NANNM) and the Joint Health Sector Union (JOHESU)

Congratulations Nigeria Nurses!!!

According to the newly approved nurses scheme of service by the National Council of Establishment, Nurses that graduated from School of nursing with RN and RM will start from grade level 9 (ie CONHESS 8] while those that have only RN will start from Grade level 8 (ie CONHESS 7)
It's fair enough to the nursing community

So B.NSc is now about B.Eng in the scheme of things in Nigeria

Lol

It’s well

If I may ask based on what criteria should B.NSC be on Level 10 and B.Eng on Level 8/9?

BNSc = 5yrs +1 yr internship +1yr NYSC = 7yrs.
B.Eng = 5yrs +1yr NYSC = 6yrs. So B.Eng enters on level 9 but if you have COREN level 10.

To get ur Coren..Required a minimum of four years after nysc.compared to ur one year internship .its still not fair.

Long overdue. Wonder why they'll be paying nurses lesser than the doctor who don't know much than to carry stethoscope for neck. If you visit most hospitals you'll see that majority of the hard workers their are nurses. They even know more than their medical counterparts. Naso one doctor won kill my neighbor with strong drug, if no be the nurse may dey my area come prescribe another drug for am...
Pay them well cause they deserve it gbetter. U f

. Forget talk, seems you've not heard of surgical nurses. Na them they help doctors for operation which means without them a doctor can't proceed so they interchange their advices. This is to show there's a teamwork btw the doctors and the nurses showing the doctors can't do it alone.

Nigeria Govt is gradually killing bedside Nursing. Why are they rating University graduates over those that finish from school of Nursing ?. Sometimes we consistently make policy somersault.

Rating University graduates higher than graduates of school of Nursing is a mistake in my own opinion.
Go and get your degree if you are a nurse . If you're not a nurse, then you are just pissed with the fact that nursing is advancing but sadl, you can't do anything about it.
