Court Affirms Adagunodo As Osun PDP Chairman by ProfesawFred(m): 4:40am On Feb 17, 2022
An Osun State High Court, sitting in Ile-Ife, on Wednesday, refused to set aside his November 22, 2021 judgement which affirmed Soji Adagunodo, as the chairman of Peoples Democratic Party in Osun state.

The court in his judgement had held that the preservative order of an Ikirun High Court which declared Adagunodo as the chairman of the party was not appealed against, thus still subsists.

But counsel for the PDP, Hashim Abioye said his client would appeal the judgement, saying the decision of the court would not affect ward Congress of the party slated for Thursday.

But the national leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party had approached the court with an application, asking that the court set aside its decision.

But while ruling on the application on Wednesday, Justice A. Aderibigbe declined the application and refused to set aside its ruling.

Reacting to the decision of the court, Edmund Biriomoni, who represented Adagunodo in the matter said, the implication of the verdict is that the appointment of Wale Ojo, who was appointed acting chairman after Adagunodo had been elected South-West PDP chairman, was valid.

Litigations in all the political parties are part of the political processes in Nigeria, but some are more disgraceful than others.

You find the more disgraceful ones within the APC. The BAT that you project is presently having his political house disgracefully torn apart by "his boys" like you whom he groomed.

Presently APC leaders are in trouble with organizing the congress they fixed for the 26th of February.

Court cases cost them elections in 2019 and will cost them more in 2023. Never in our democracy did we witness such carelessness and ineptitude as APC displayed in 2019 with court cases and submission of candidates names to INEC before deadline dates.

Presently APC has cases everywhere. They are even scared of what will happen if they can manage to have their convention on the 26th. Certainly as it is traditional with them, they will lose many seats because of intra party litigations. Only yesterday on Channels TV, the commissioner for information in Kogi state and one of the APC youth leaders were disagreeing openly over basic party matters.

Did anybody stop you from contesting against Tinubu?

You're a free citizen with full eligibility to aspire for any position just like Tinubu.

Tinubu is only exercising his constitutional rights that you equally have.

You don't have to be mad @ anything Tinubu. It's unfair. You're free to either vote against him or contest against him.

Dissident Group in Osun PDP;

When will they wake to the reality ?

Firstly, there's no where the Judgement pronounce Wale Ojo as the Osun PDP Chairman or remove Sunday Bisi as the chairman.

Secondly, the ' res' of the Judgement had been impeached by the Court of Appeal and as such there's nothing to execute in that Judgement. Or will High Court overrule Court of Appeal? Kikikikiki

Thirdly, Adagunodo is the beneficiary of the Judgement that contains nothing to execute and Adagunodo is now South West Zonal Vice Chairman of PDP. Is Adagunodo still laying claim to position of Osun PDP simultaneously? Kikikikikiki kakakakaka

On the last PDP Ward Congress in Osun. Conduct of PDP Congress at any structure of the party in the state is within the purview of National Working Committee of the PDP and not the State Chairman. So, how would you be linking the Congress of the party to the State Chairman or state Working Committee.

Lastly, political is a voluntary association, all the congresses that took place in osun last year had been passed, ratified and approved by National Convention that produced the present NWC and all the Delegates from Osun voted at that Convention. This has also been settled at last stakeholders meeting of Osun PDP with NWC in Abuja recently.

When will dissident group within Osun PDP Stop making themselves happy at where there's no happiness at all?

This judgement has no effect on the congresses that we’re conducting and it has nothing to do with the primary election that’s coming up on March 7th. We should get that one clear

Osun PDP Asks Members To Stand Resolute Against Destabilizing Antics Of APC Agents

Says Ile-Ife Court Judgement Has No Effect On Ongoing Congresses.

The attention of the the Osun State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party has been drawn to a judgement of an Ile-Ife high court on the leadership of the party in the state.

The PDP in Osun State wishes to inform our teeming party members that the purported judgement of the Osun State High Court sitting in Ile-Ife has no bearing on the ward Adhoc delegates Congress holding today and tomorrow across the 332 wards in the state.

The purported judgement we must emphasize, has nothing to do with the ongoing Ward Adhoc Congress as such exercise remains an exclusive preserve of the national office of our great party.

In any case, the legal team of our party adequately took notice of all that transpired in the Ile-Ife High Court in the course of the litigation but as a law abiding political party, the legal team of the party has expeditiously carried out our instructions to appeal the judgement immediately.

Therefore, we must note for the sake of emphasis that Congresses as adhoc degates are not conducted by state chapters of the party. The processes for the Congress have since been kick-started by the appropriate authorities of our party and all stakeholders are being carried along for a successful exercise.

We are not oblivious of the fact that some elements in the party in the state are adamant in playing the destabilizing cards of Apc in our party despite passionate appeal of the National Working Committee led by the National Chairman, Dr Iyochia Ayu.

We wish to enjoin all our party members to remain calm and go ahead with modalities for the Adhoc Delegate Congress as the leadership of our party remains resolute in our determination to rescue Osun State from the mis-rule of APC and their shameless collaborators within our ranks.

Signed
Prince Bola Ajao
State Secretary,
Peoples Democratic Party
Osun State Chapter.

Congress set and No going back.

Resist from false information that is rampant in social media about the affirmation of one restricted man called Wale Ojo, he has been suspended from party activities in Osun state and Nigeria @large.

Hon. Sunday Bisi is the capacity chairman of Osun State, which recognized by the PDP National Headquarters in Wadata Plaza, Abuja.

Hon. Sunday Bisi is the recognized party chairman that received the national envoy of the party which arrived yesterday night and the procurement for the three Ad-hov delegates is on the ground and it has been distributed across the 332 wards in Osun state.

All protocols of the party is well observed and the security agent and Inec official are on ground to protect and be the witness of the Congress today of 16th, February 2022.

Let's Come out immensely today and vote for our part loyalist.

POLITICS OF DECEIT AND THE LEGAL IMPLICATION

When people think they can pull wool over the eyes of others to let them what is not in existence, they should also keep in mind that other intelligent people are around to debunk their falsehood and put events in the proper perspective.
Rejoicing about the ruling of the Ile-Ife High Court of today not setting aside it's early judgement and misinterpreting thesame as victory for Wale Ojo to be the PDP State Chairman is fallacy of the year and political rascality carrying too far.
If l may ask,is Wale Ojo an interested party by way of joinder in that suit? What was the main issue before the court meant for determination?
It is expediently necessary to clarify this issue for unsuspected readers to be abreast of the facts in issue before being misled too far.

The main issue PDP is contesting in Ile-Ife High Court is asking the court to set aside it's earlier judgement reached per-incurian that Soji Adagunodo is the State Chairman.
PDP presented before Ile-Ife High Court documentary evidence to show that the Court of Appeal,Akure had earlier gave judgement on the preservative order the State High Court,Ikirun which illegally sustained Soji Adagunodo as the State Chairman beyond 7 days required by Ex-parte motion. The Ikirun High Court erred procedurally for more than 3 months instead of asking Soji Adagunodo to come by way of Motion on Notice to argue his case why he felt he was still the State Chairman after being removed by the National Working Committee of the party for malfeasance.
This delay tactics prompted PDP to approached Court of Appeal,Akure to quash the illegal preservative order of Ikirun High Court, which the higher court obliged by stripping off Soji Adagunodo of the State Chairmanship of PDP.
Common sense dictates procedurally that if Soji Adagunodio did not favourably disposed to the Court of Appeal judgement on the matter in which the court held that the preservative order was made in error by the State High Court, Ikirun, the only option left for him is to go to the Supreme Court for the final appeal.
After filing his appeal at the Supreme Court,Soji Adagunodo still surreptitiously filed thesame matter that the Court of Appeal had disposed off at Ile-Ife High Court. This is abuse of court process which PDP asked the presiding Judge to reverse upon presentation before the lower court that the matter had been adjudicated upon by higher court. It is still thesame judgement that the Ile-Ife High Court refused to reverse today through its ruling of today.

It is at this juncture l am now saying, the judgement of the court of first instance of Ile-Ife is still subject to appeal by PDP which will be quashed by the higher court.
Be that as it may, assuming without conceding that Ile-Ife High Court still pronounce Soji Adagunodo as the State Chairman, can he assume that office after he had been sworn in as the National Vice Chairman of PDP in the southwest geo-political zone?
Where is that arrangement found IN PDP Constitution?
If Soji Adagunodo is known as deviant of constituted authority,he will meet his brick wall in this case.
This is a person that was given the post of National Vice Chairman of the party in the southwest after agreeing that he will withdraw all his cases against the party from court.
Secondly,at the meeting held between the NWC and and the PDP stakeholders in Osun about 2 weeks ago,the National Chairman gave Soji Adagunodo matching order to go and withdraw all his cases against the the party in court otherwise risk not being invited to NWC's meeting again.
This is the dilemma Soji Adagunodo is facing now.
Whichever way he goes,Soji Adagunodo is going to be reprimanded for this level of affront against the party.

Lastly, concerning Wale Ojo that the ignoramus are congratulating as the State Chairman, there is no basis for this.
He has nothing to do with today's ruling of Ile-Ife High Court. He did not apply for joinder as party interested in this matter ab-initio,the ruling of the court did not bring in and so cannot reap the benefits thereof.
Let me draw the attention of the reading public to the fact that the tenure of the State Executives of PDP and its affiliates comes by March,2022. PDP Osun will definitely elect new State Chairman that will pilot the activities of the the party therefrom by His mercy and grace.
That can neither be Wale Ojo nor Soji Adagunodo.
If this is the case, what are these people celebrating in the social media? It is nothing indeed to write home about.
