donofdons: Calling a whole tribe useless nullifies any point you think you are trying to make. Your type of person is the problem of the black man and you clearly do not know the history of Rivers state. Ogoni has produced great men that has made enormous contributions to not just Rivers State, but beyond. People like Chief Paul Birabi Chief Kogbara, Chief Kobani, Dr. GB Leton, Kemte Giadom who was a strong contender for the state governorship at some point in history and many more. Ken Sara Wiwa, a great man no doubt, contributed in the creation of Rivers State but he joined people that were already there, much later. People like Chief Harold Dappa Biriye (arguably the father of Rivers State and I believe is not accorded the level of recognition he deserves even in death) from Bonny, Wenike Briggs (Kalabari), Professor Otonti Nduka (Ikwerre), Dr Wakama (Okrika), Dr. Fiberesima (Andoni), Dr. Ekpebu (Ijaw), Chief Oriji (Ikwerre), Capt. Elechi Amadi (Ikwerre) Amatari Zoufa (Ijaw), Wobidike Wonodi (SAN) (Ikwerre), Ngei (Eleme) and many others were already in the trenches fighting the oppressors at the time and for the creation of Rivers State even while Ken Sara Wiwa was still in school. I believe the Ikwerre's have had their fair share in governing the state so should take the back sit this time and probably the Orashi people (Peter Odili) also, as other ethnic groups in the state deserve the chance to govern too not just the Ogonis. |

barineh: Egbema, Bonny and Opobo all speak Igbo. Some people in Bonny also speak Ibani but the default language in Bonny town is Igbo. 1 Like |

Idiko1: Everyone knows that Eleme is a subset of Ogoni people. They are like a child tribe of the larger Ogoni group. |
