For me I think the main reason why most women in Nigeria are still in abusive marriages is because some of them can't fend for themselves rather than the fear of God

Wait a second.... God does hate divorce and it is only prescribed in the case of fornication. So how is that a myth?

What you ought instead to say is that this law/commandment only applies to those who are truly living their lives in submission and obedience to Jesus Christ and Jesus Christ alone. It is meaningless for those who subscribe to the "man is head over women" curse placed on marriage by God from Genesis 3 vs 16 - 22 . Those who bow to that curse outright reject Jesus Christ who was send to redeem men from that curse. 1. That is due to mental illness and any man who listens to and accepts such terms is a predator/coward and a bully for taking advantage of even women with such low sense of self. So, there is no excuse even in such situation for that damage.

2. Problem of the ages. People don't spend enough time to learn what they really want before heading out to the Market to get it.

3. God will lead you as an individual to doing that which He commands of you even in your marriage. He said your marriages are of this world and not of His Kingdom so your there is no such thing as a "Christian" marriage.
