You mean Mikoyan Gurevich. Your inventory is damn poor. Can these aircrafts escape any Air defence system? They'd be downed in seconds.

Maybe, you didn't see retired.

Everything on there is obsolescent. Most of the world's armies are operating 5th generation military systems but we are here celebrating 3rd and 4th generations. A civil war era RPG or SAM can take down any of those things there.

Some of them are even built specifically for training purposes not assault so they'll be irrelevant in international conflicts.

Okay. Mention 10 countries who indigenously developed their 5th generation program and are currently fielding 5th generation aircrafts in the Frontline.
Only the United States developed a 5th generation aircraft in the 90s. China just started inputting their J20 5th generation planes in the year 2020. Russia is still developing the Pak-Fa, i.e Su-57 and aren't even in commercial quantities yet.

Now, tell me what you meant by most countries? America's close allies can only purchase the F35 and we all know how damn expensive that hardware is. Is Nigeria a trusted Ally of the United States? Do you see any African country operating 5th generation?

Please, if you don't see anything good in Nigeria, work hard for a lot of money and "japa". Since that's what you want. To live in another man's country.
Just because we decided to be patriots doesn't mean we're stupid, had it been the Americans acted like you back then when they were damn poor and underdeveloped, they'll never be this way.

You'll tell me how a Nigerian airforce A29 super tucano with GBU munitions and AKPWS munitions are obsolete? Are you even okay? Do you know Nigeria is the only country in Sub Saharan Africa with AKPWS? Nigerian airforce operates C-802 anti-ship missiles for the Jf17. So that's obsolete right? Are you okay? If you know nothing about aviation, quit putting your mouth in topics that doesn't concern you.

Out dated and obsolete war machines. The only new machine in the NAF hanger is the super Tucano, the rest are just outdated scrabs

Rubbish

You even still had the guts to post a jet Used in the world war 2 as one of nigerias fleet

Tueh, corrupt and archaic fund's embezzlement machined politicians with acient and bland taste wants you to believe this jets are state of the art and current, been the tech illiterates that you are, you fell for it undecided
Op is even posting helicopters that most farmers and business men own in Canada as one of nigerias best helicopters

This is what this country has been reduced to, celebrating mediocrity

Algelria and Egypt have not spent half of what we have as military budget for the duration of 40 years, but their airframes are what sane people will call modern and recent

Not some tech illiterates Post coming here to celebrate outdated World war 2 Jets

Tueh
I weep for Nigerians because they have a long way to go undecided

Bullshit.

The funds are not beyond Nigeria's reach.
How much is $2b that Nigeria cannot get every year for weapons only.
The problem is priority and lack of ambition.

And it's critical to our continued existence as a nation.

Pakistan has a lower GDP than Nigeria.
Check the huge disparity in weaponry.

Pakistan has an enemy India..
So they have to spend big

You are a fool for mentioning Buhari and PDP in this matter.
Is it Buhari's money? Obasanjo did not focus on defense because there wasn't need for it then. Boko Haram wasn't unleashed by the Northern elites then. He focused on the economy and infrastructures. Jonathan did focus on security and defence unfortunately he was surrounded by wolves who devoured all the money. His time was still ok, at least economy and infrastructures wasn't that bad.
This your Buhari have killed and buried the country with nepotistic and religious agenda. So what are you hailing him for.

Ndi Uchu'

should I reply this idiot? No no no. I don't need to jump in the same potopoto with this pig.
Only a fool will say that a country should not focused on security because there was no insecurities. America is not at war but they budget large some of money for there defence. They are ready to face any external or internal attack because they have the weapons ready at anytime.
Mr idiot, pls whenever you want to insult somebody that don't even know your existence, always go and ask your mother for your real dad. Only a bastard will start insulting people in faceless forum like this one.

A country of staving people and you want to spend billions to buy these nonsense and billions more to maintain them.
In the last 10 years, we have had more millitry plane crash than any country in Africa.
With these multi-billion dollar planes we can't defeat bokoharam yet some one would justify their purchase.

Our fleet is made up of mostly 1st and 2nd generation aircrafts. The only few here that are close to 3rd generations are the JF-17 and the Tucano. Next time, our govt should save money to buy the Russian made Sukhoi SU-25, SU-27 and other variants of it that we probably would be able to afford. Russian planes are miles cheaper than the ones from the west.

JF-17 is not a third generation fighter jet. It is fourth generation fighter jet. SU-25 is a third generation light weight bomber. While SU-27 is probably a fourth generation fighter.

Egypt bought SU-35. While Algeria has SU-30. If Nigeria wants to go for Russian fighter jet. I will recommend SU-30 for air superiority and SU-34 for air to ground attack. The US F-16 too is a fantastic fighter. We can as well go for chinese J-16. Others like the SU-35, Rafale, Euro Typhoon & F-15 may be too expensive.

No, the problem of this country is corrupt evil people who want to continue destroying this country.
The problem is evil leaders and stupid supporters.
If we as a people are united against our leaders, this country would move forward.
But some fools have invented names and insults to divide us.
You call your fellow Nigerian a child of hate just because he hates corruption and the evil leadership.
What is wrong with you.

The j-16 is not for sale. The Egyptians cancelled their order of the Russian built Su-35 because of CAATSA sanctions. Presently, we can't buy Russian fighter aircraft because of the Ukrainian invasion. Even before the invasion, it's difficult to purchase Russian equipment due to sanctions. In fact, presently 5 MI 35m purchased by the Nigerian Air force are still stuck in Russia because of the sanctions. Trade with Russia is banned.

It's difficult to buy American equipment. They're expensive, takes long-term to deliver. Right now, 12 Ah-1z supercobra gunships purchased by the Nigerian Air force have been delayed by the United States. We're not in the good books of the United States, especially when they are under a Democrat party administration. We could only get the Super Tucanos because Donald Trump, a republican allowed it.

The best plane we can get right now, is the Chinese J-10C. We could get em if we want em. But the Nigerian Air force hierarchy probably have their eyes on the Jf17 block 3 cos we already operate the block 2.
