The countries you mentioned is as a result of constant hostilities between them and their neighbours. India and Pakistan, China and Taiwan, Japan , and of course Iran and Israel, USA. If UK feel the need to up the military budget, they will definitely do it but that doesn't mean their military is obsolete. Russia is aware of UK might.. Germany has the largest economy in Europe but they too have cut down on their military budget rather it is the USA that is making use of the country for its military base

putin is a shameless fool. Almost half of his soldiers have been neutralised by the gallantry of the ukrainian forces. He is now sending hypersonic missiles from russia to ukraine. He could not defeat them man to man.

Your equation of Ukraine being defeated by Russia meaning that Russia would 'deal' with UK the same way is laughable.

The UK Power may have faded over the last 90 years but it is no Ukraine. God forbids any war but where a supposed 'super power' Russia has taken close to a month in a War still raging and (Russia) suffering losses too — to a Ukraine that got independence in 1991 then something's wrong.

All parties should negotiate this war but Russia's reputation (as a world power) has definitely taken a hit whether or not they 'win' the war from what's going on.
