You're not informed on matters like this. Touts have hierarchy resulting to huge losses of revenue, and hate against the government.

Absolutely well said. In Marwas regime, even police dey fear to collect bribe. There was a department that used to arrest bribe collectors and drill them in the open. You go see police dey do frog jump for road.

The touts should either learn a skill that the government will be providing fot free, go into farming or have themselves shot on the road like animals.


This is what Soludo should do. By the time they are shot and their corpses carried off to anatomy labs at Unizik junction, Upper Iweka, down fly etc. Others will learn and become gentle.

Converting them will be counterproductive like what we have in Lagos. Don't ever put thugs in government, I repeat, don't ever. What he should do is engage them. Make them transporters themselves and they too should be paying levies as they demand from other motorists. That's very simple as organizing them, keeping records on them, and empowering them. That way, you not only make them breadwinners for their families but also orientate them along as they go through the process of engaging.

Then the State can then collect its revenue in peace. The state can create outlets at motor parks where drivers can purchase tickets through electronic means which is easily convenient for the drivers to buy daily tickets for their operations. The state can monitor and regulate this through its transport ministry.

No! it’s the touts NURTW market women, farmers etc, union workers etc. It’s not like the people in LASG do t want to change the system and the traffic and nuisance factor caused by these people but you don’t bite the hand of your power base. Many of us educated people don’t understand these touts market women NURTW etc are the power base of Nigerian politics, You don’t Bleep with them unless you have no intention of seeking another term…..just ask Ambode what became of his plan to introduce 21st century refuse collection and his 2nd term!!!!

I said it at the time he doesn’t seem to appreciate the power of these people. He has to thread carefully, any solution must carry them along and compensate them for their loss of income or he will serve only 1 term.

These things also do not work by order. He has to carry all concerned parties along. The union heads for instance. Those are the people who can order the touts and they will listen.

The governor should use his executive powers to enforce this. He shouldn't just sit in the office. Let him move around the parks himself. When a few persons are arrested and dealt with, others will stay away. But he also needs to provide alternative for them.
