I hope you all know that about 95% of the gas reserves in Nigeria lie in Igboland.

Take note all.

Idiots keep believing they will deny Igbos the presidency, and still have unhinged access to our huge gas deposit. You bastards are joking.

AKK gas pipeline my foot. As long as you idiots believes no Igbo is worth presiding over Nigeria, come and take the gas. Bunch of idiots.

Back to the matter... It's not a bad deal, actually.
According to the article, China seems to be Nigeria's major source of revenue from Solid Minerals, amounting to about 85% of the revenue. What if tomorrow, China says "we're done!" Hmmm another problem! Then, Nigeria would borrow again

So, this is a good move! More revenue from different sources!
More money in the reserves, then very soon , if approached well, FX would regain value.

By the way, lately we're just seeing large figures! Money everywhere for this government! They should improve the standard of living! Prices are just going up!
an the kind thing I won they hear.one mans lose is another mans gain.

Don't be deceived, the earned money indirectly feed you and your family.
Without the oil and gas earnings, your purchasing power will drop by at least 80%.
How is it feeding me when i earn from abroad in hard currency? My dear, we live in the most corrupt country with thieving leaders

That will have been a great miracle for Nigeria out of the current hardship but I doubt Nigera's ability to assume the role of supplying gas to Europe because we can't even power our electricity power plants with enough gas and cooking gas is prices is on the high roof.

They were even begging EU to invest in gas infrastructure and hydrocarbon exploration first before Nigeria can have the ability to supply gas is already self defeating, the EU want urgent solution from countries that can supply gas IMMEDIATELY, serious countries that have invested in their gas industries and could start pumping gas in tankers immediately. Nigeria is a joke, Silva is a joke.
You invest in your country to cash out in situations like this.

This is what I've been waiting to hear. This is an opportunity for Nigeria. It's unfortunate the country wasn't prepared prior to now, they're still pleading for basic infrastructure when EU is in need immediate solution, but it's not too late start.

SMH , I don’t think we’re ready
We are not for sure, only serious countries with foresight will invest heavily in their infrastructure and cash out at time like this, Nigeria's ports will be so busy more jobs will be created.

]I wonder why successive governments in Nigeria have refused to create wealth from already existing natural resources we have[/b]. We have oil in abundance, why can't we create wealth by refining it? We have abundant gas reserve, why is there still scarcity of gas? We have gold, why do we still import gold at high price? Do we need to wait for foreigners to invest in our gas exploration before we start making money from it?

This Russia-Ukraine conflict should be a perfect avenue for Nigeria to earn a lot of FOREX by selling oil at higher price, but unfortunately, whatever we make will still be used in paying subsidy because we can't refining our oil. If we had invested in gas exploration, by now most EU members would have turned to Nigeria...

It will never be well with useless politicians dragging Nigeria backwards (chopping hug salaries and allowances and achieving nothing tangible to lift the citizens of this country) despite the resources God blessed her with.

Like that money will be accounted for at the end

Well said!
Since the rise in price of crude oil in the midst of Ukraine War- how much has Nigerians benefits and the same Minister of Petroleum ( Silver ) had been given excuses as to why Nigeria and Nigerians will not benefit due to non- maintenance of all the Nation's Refineries but why?
-Why is the same person talking about Gas now? ----Why are we not having 24/7 hours light, why?
-Why can't governors construct roads up to 15-20km at a time, without given excuses, why?
Shameful!

Africa's Foot On The Gas Pedal

Officials of the European Commission have started a week-long meeting in Brussels, discussing how to respond to the expected energy shortage in Europe, occasioned by the ongoing Russian military invasion of Ukraine. The Brussels meeting is also scheduled to include a roundtable with Africa gas producers and other industry stakeholders. In this report, arise business correspondent, Boason Omofaye weighs the strengths and opportunities of increased gas supply to Europe now presented to Africa, and how the continent can take advantage of them

Thank God for this opportunity,
That's very nice of Sylva, they should invest so that we will have more gas to ourselves and supply to them.
They should stop buying from Russia, Putin is using the money to manufacture weapons and kill them, our leaders will use the money to invest in Europe, at least there will be jobs in the oil and gas industry, there will be forex, and Nigeria will be a bit stable.
I see the hardship going.
Europe should come to Nigeria and invest, we will not weapons and destroy Europe, rather we will invest the money in the west.

Is a very good investment, since the our leaders will return the money back to them.

Then you don't know your country

I know my country.

A country that cannot explore, extract and refine the product that it has been selling for the best part of 62 years. When the Minister of Petroleum is begging foreign IOC to assist Nigeria in developing its national assets, you know your country is truly messed up.
