Why Ghana Is Better Than Nigeria by sweetmelanin(f): 9:21pm On Mar 29, 2022
1. The People
Ghanaians are generally cool, calm and collected. They live a peaceful life without the need to boast and show off excessively, they appreciate their culture and live in humility. They live a generally slower pace of life and therefore experience a more stress-free existence appreciating nature and the true beauty of African serenity.
Nigeria on the other hand is a highly populous nation, filled with amazing people but the general society is more suited to fast paced, aggressive way of life. The effects of the harsh and brutal environment in Nigeria is evident in the angry, bumptious, loud and arrogant personalities the nation produces .. personalities who have been conditioned to adjust to a constantly oppressive system of living, thus having traits of anxiety, violence, boisterous but yet cowardly ‘suffering and smiling’ traits where the tolerance for inhumane treatment is so high.

2. Education
By African standards, Ghana can boast of a sound educational system. This is evident by how many Nigerian students troop to Ghana year after year, to enjoy a decent education with good infrastructure and to have a shot at achieving their degrees in good time.
The University of Ghana ranks #12 amongst the Top Universities in Africa.

3. They deal with their Fulani problem swiftly and effectively, ensuring the peace and safety of their citizens.
A wise nation understands the importance of self-preservation and this is why Ghanaian authorities are swift to act whenever there are any potential of threat or nuisance by settlers in their country.
The Fulani people in Ghana are kept in their place as settlers and in fact, the Ghanaian constitution is structured in a way that ensures that no one of Fulani decent will ever rule their country no matter how long they have settled there. This an intentional move to protect the safety of the Ghanaian people and it works! Ghana is one of the most peaceful nations in West Africa. There are little to no reports of ‘banditry’ and terrorism unlike in Nigeria where Fulani settlers have gradually infiltrated & subjugated the Hausas in the North, thus dominating the political space of the entire nation. Moreso, I’ll be beating a dead horse if I go on to recap all the atrocities, banditry, terrorism, killings perpetuated by this same group of people and their terrorist militia here in Nigeria.
A de-tribalized mindset which has been promoted to Nigerians has given room for these foreigners to come in and wreck havoc on indigenous peoples. Nigerians now foolishly demonize tribalism not understanding the deadly consequences of not protecting your own tribe, ancestry, land and lineage. The Balanta and Manjaco tribes of Guinea Bissau work in conjunction to ensure the Fulani people do not ever get the opportunity to dominate them politically. In fact, most African countries seem to be well aware of the threat these normadic Fula terrorists pose to their national security and do not shy away from drawing the lines politically and physically. Ghana has been exceptional in doing so, thus ensuring the peace, prosperity and safety of their indigenous peoples.
Some examples below:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sVVuAc_na5A

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=95oO64ZD6pM

4. Passport Ranking
Ghanaian passport ranks #82 in global ranking with access to 62 countries visa free.
Nigerian passport ranks #98 in global ranking with access to 45 countries visa free.

5. Currency
Ghanaian Cedi to dollar = GH¢ 8.1
Nigerian Naira to dollar = N 587

6. Tourism and The Year of Return
Many African Americans and African diasporans are looking to move back to the motherland and more often than others, Ghana is always the first choice of consideration; aside from Gambia, Tanzania. The “Year of Return” was introduced in 2019 in which Ghana opened its arms to all African descendants and returnees looking to relocate back to Africa. The influx of these diasporans saw a boom in Ghana’s economy as an increase in foreign investment and tourism flourished. This initiative positioned Ghana as a key travel destination for African Americans and the African Diaspora.
Despite being at the forefront of afrobeats/African entertainment and culture, Nigeria is hardly a country considered by the African diaspora as a choice destination for relocation and this is due to the ever worsening situation of the country; from the harsh economic climate and changing government policies which destroy investments & businesses, to the greed and corruption, poor infrastructure, terrorism, banditry and religious extremism in the North.

Exactly. They have only about 9 major ethnic groups, which is easier to manage than Nigeria's 200+ ethnic nations. They operate a fair system of governance and are, for the most part, united in cultural beliefs.

Mr/Mrs sweetmelanin I don't care about all the things you listed but your number 5.
You need to understand that it is not everybody that is dumb. Ghanaian Currency is not in anyway better than Nigerian Naira.
The misconception in Cedi is a deliberate attempt by Ghanaians to fool those that don't have proper understanding of their currency.

Ghanian Cedi on paper looks like 8.1 cedi to one dollar but in actual sense it is 81,000 cedi for one dallar

Maybe bankers in the house can help explain it better. Ghana removed five extra zeros (redenomination act of 2007) from their currency few years ago by reintroducing the use of Pasewa making it 1,000,000 Pasewa for one Cedi. If Nigeria was to use the same trick and reintroduce Kobo, then one dollar will be 5.8 naira on a normal scale, but if we go Ghana way (1/10000) it will be 5.8 kobo at most for one dollar

Not everybody on nairaland is easily fooled

You can make a submission without sounding dumb and frustrated you know..

BTW,

1 cedi = 58 naira.
That's how useless our Nigerian currency is.

Nigeria regionalism can be base on Ethnic nationalities too eg Tiv region, Igala region, efik region etc. Or we can just make the 6 geopolitical regions the states

This current structure is failing

We need to work on a system that will favour us.

Na the last point pain me pass!

Imagine African Americans who in all likelihood are direct descendants of ethnic groups in Nigeria like Igbo, Yoruba, Efik/Ibibio, etc, now choosing to relocate to Ghana instead of Nigeria just because some fools are holding this country to ransom! In this regard, you could say Ghana has taken full advantage of our complacency and stupidity to steal our thunder!

Even in the face of fact, fools will try to justify their foolishness (proverb 14, 8-12).

Very soon a Donkey like you will say that Zimbabwean Dollar is higher than naira because of their 4th Re-denomination that saw 1 ZWL to 1.14 naira.
The prayer point of APC will be for Nigeria to have abundance of foolish idiots like you so that after they are done with the inflation, they will Re-denominate naira and you and your fellow donkeys will go "naira is now higher than dollar" with the new redenominated value.

Just Google "Ghana Re-denomination act of 2007"

Like the snippet I posted said, only zeros were removed, the value never changed.

Finally, for the record, I don't care if you continue in your foolishness or not because that is what most of you people in this part of this world are designed to do, but don't brand it in public as if you know what you are saying

Nigeria isn't progressing not for want of brilliant ideas of the right kinda structure to operate, or for want of blowing of big grammar! The problem is...try getting the ruling hegemony and their enslaved southern cheerleaders to support said suggestions proferred! Goodluck with that!

As we speak, they're now preoccupied with bribing and scheming their way to 2023, using THE SAME CONSTITUTION THAT HAS LEFT US IN THE MESS WE'RE IN PRESENTLY, and you're there thinking things will change just by blowing grammar!

6 REASONS WHY NIGERIA IS BETTER THAN GHANA

- 1000 times more entrepreneurs and profitable businesses than Ghana

-1000 times more economic opportunities than Ghana

- Far more cities and bigger cities with more developed infrastructure than Ghana

- Several world class airports compared to Ghana's single 1 in Accra.

- A capital city, Abuja, that is miles ahead of any city in Ghana in every single department!!!

- A commercial capital, Lagos, with a GDP 5 times the size of the entire Ghana GDP.

I could list 60 more ways if I had time for your dumbass!!!!

In terms of social sophistication, Ghana is like 100 years ahead of Nigeria.
In Accra loosely dressed ladies can walk the streets. In fact most people walk, and ladies can dress as they like.
In Nigeria, walking can be dangerous for a lady if she is not mindful of her dressing.

Sorry to say, the guy you quoted is actually right. And in the really sense 1 cedi has no intrinsic value...

For intense what 58naira can get you in Nigeria, you will need up to 5 cedis to buy the same items.

Illustration: If I buy a phone for N58 in Nigeria, you will need up to 6 CEDI's to buy the same phone, which invariably means that Ghanaians would have to spend more to buy the same phone (N348).
