The case of this islamic bank is simple,let it be giving another name that has nothing with muslim or christian,so far is been establish by government. If sanusi have an hidden agenda to magnify his religion he should go and motivate his mosque to establish one not goverment,or else he is walking against unity and want shedding of blood.

Why not use your Malam lama money to start the Islamic Banking system? How much is that North actually contributing to the nation national income to know how this banking system will be successful. You think everybody can be forced by your Islamic interest without questioning it? Jeez! You are dreaming! Go and educate your people first before educating the South on Islamic Banking. Exactly how this bank will operate beats my imagination. Zero interest rate in this economy, haba, this is eldorado banking. I don't know whether the promoters have studied what led to zero interest rates in certain countries like Japan and what manner of problems it caused. Adopting the model practiced by a few institutions around the middle east will get us nowhere. The Nigerian and Arabian economies bear no semblance whatsoever. The downside of the Gramin bank is very bitter and I hope we know Socialism is dead worldwide.

And we say in the midst of next to zero productivty, free falling currency, no borders and lax exchange controls, weak purchasing power and bad infrastructre and you cap it with WISP (wide spread poverty) you charge no interest.

I tell you something foesn't add up here. Who's paying for this stuff. Where is this free money coming from. I mean if its cool, clean cash where has it been hidden all rhis while. Something just doesn't add up.

That's the worry. It could either destabilise the prevailing financial system or crash shortly after takeoff. Since it is politically driven I am betting on the latter but certainly the casualties will be great. Nigerians are inherently capitalist. Can't see the chemistry here.

and the principle of opreting the banks is purely secular, no problem. That Islam accomodates Christianity more than Christianity to islam
may not be correct. Looking at all the religious crisis in the north, what did the christians do wrong that let loose the demons of blood sucking
islam on innocent Nigerians or how do you justify the killings of the 10 NYSC members in the north recently? How accomodating is islam. If you claim
razor sharp utterances, where is the tolerance and accomodation in islam. Even you as a muslim, you are not save in the north when they start their madness.
I lost my uncle, an Alhaji, a devout muslim to one of those islamic riots in the north, so what are we saying?

Its called non-interest banking system and has been around for a long time but the very reason why sanusi chose to religionize it is what i don't understand, Nigeria becomes sensitive when issues of religions and ethnic affiliates is raised because we are not united and never would be so lets stop fooling ourselves and tell sanusi to stop playing with Nigerian economy through religious manipulations and face the real problems on ground!!!!
