Just say u don't understand y the linkage..

Do u know that you cannot upload a porn video on YouTube?
Do u know also that you cannot upload racism comments on Twitter?

Now here his the reason. When u upload an adult content on YouTube, a video sensor ditects it and blocks it. Then u will get a warning not to upload such.

Now when someone makes a call for instance and they want to track such call, they call track the mast from where the call is made especially wen the individual is a prime suspect. But u cannot know the exact place where the person is, except when the phone is on. Also you will not know weather the person is the true owner of such line.

But with your nin linking they will start monitoring that line, know how longe such individual has been using it, when it was registered etc and also there re advance softwares to detect certain conversations between individuals that when someone start talking about bombing, explosives, importation of weapons..

This software detect the phone number, now because of the nin linkage the real document of the person will appear. Now with dis the authority will now place a red flag on that person's conversation.

So that nin thing is very very important.

Correct.

Only criminals like yahoo boys, robbers, kidnappers, ritualists, etc,are not comfortable with this.

It is high time we ignored them.

I see crimes like Yahoo Yahoo dropping sharply.

Are you alright? undecided

Your information is already captured as you register, the process is the same abroad as it is here but there is no need to have a national ID linked with the sim.

I have already explained, if you still don't want to grab go and ask your relatives abroad to break it down to your level.

I asked a simple question to know more and not for you to display your arrogancy.

A simple explanation would have done much than asking such stupid question as to whether I'm alright or not. Does one who isn't alright ask someone alright questions bothering national security and the likes?

Did it since but unlike those who support this brain dead policy I'm not thinking about myself alone.

Even though Ghana's policy makes a bit more sense than Nigeria's own since it allows foreigners to use sims if they are just visiting, the same Ghanaians are still complaining about the policy.

I have to ask because this is not something I should have to explain to an adult with data on his phone to search "UK sim registration process".

I have grown weary of government sheep asking silly and childish questions in an attempt to derail and distract.

If you want to act like children don't be surprised when you are treated as such.

Nin- sim linking should be a continuous process

No deadline....no barring of sim card from making out going calls....and nothing should happen to people sim card who refused to link

The only thing they should insist on is that when ever you are buying a new sim...it must be linked.

With this ....gradually or as time goes on or rather many years later.....sim card not linked to nin will automatically not be in circulation and it will fizzle out on its own

Those people frustrated me for a whole day, and after finally getting to my turn, they said there is no network from Abuja.

The form is still in my house as we speak. I don't have much time in my hands for a day and the little I managed to scramble, they wasted it.

I will get my NIN though, but at my convenience. For the main time, they can do their worst.

Give me instances of those who had theirs successfully linked yet their SIMs were blocked. I helped some persons before now to get theirs linked but because there was no text message confirming a successful linking, theirs were blocked and when I helped them yesterday with same, messages were sent and their sim cards unblocked.

As for the reason as to why the need for such linking, the cases of Ghana and Tanzania should educate you a little about that.. National security and reducing cybercrimes and theft of identity.

Now let me use my case as an example, before I got my sim linked of late.. My phone was stolen and someone used my sim to open an account with fidelity and till this moment I do receive alerts from his bank. When I was to retrieve it, I had to confirm the SIM still belongs to me and then I linked it with my NIN. Now, if I'd done so before my phone was stolen and used by the individual as his own during account opening, don't you think it would have been impossible for him knowing that his NIN would be requested?

You people are the cause of your own suffering, whatever Nigerians are experiencing today they deserve it because they do not want to think, want self centred politicians to do their thinking for them.

I am asking you as a grown adult and a Nigerian what the linking intends to solve and you're telling me "just do it because the government says so".

Your unwillingness to ask important questions is why the government will continue to take your grandkids for fools.

I wonder how some of them reason! America with all of its technological excellency is still facing issues of terrorism, yet we make it look like Nigeria is unique to it. Although Government aren't doing enough to curb such due to bad leadership and followers, Nigerians shouldn't see any policy geared towards addressing such a negative one all the time.

Let me tell you, if federal government have been able to curb insecurity, with this introduction of nin, nigerians will happily register for nin. People simply do not believe, is for a good purpose. I've gone through my screenshots and didn't see any criticism... Besides, criticism would come from certain persons who aren't satisfied with government policies especially when it is of disadvantage to their insincere business transactions but that doesn't stop government from implementation. National interest supercedes individual interest, go read about your constitution properly and civic education if you will humble yourself and do a proper research.
