So the cybercrime rate on Ghana and Tanzania should be around zero right now.

There's no where in the world where there's a complete elimination of such but that doesn't mean efforts to address them shouldn't be put in place and encouraged by others

Or you could have used your common sense and blocked the sim as soon as you knew it was stolen.

I don't pray for your enemy or mine to be in same state I was when my phone was stolen because issues of phone or phone number won't be a priority. Beside, why block a sim that's of importance and was still going through tracking?

Wow and covid19 just disappeared from the world, what is the essence of carrying out this kind of action, when we are suppose to be in the middle of a pandemic, this government loves to put citizens into hardship but on a lighter note if only they were able to ban bandits, boko harem, kidnappers lines then I will be happy..but I know that is just wishful thinking, thank God my lines are still intact
the Bandits don't normaly use their own phones to make calls. They use their victims phones.

America with all her technological advancements is still faced with terrorism and identity theft, but that doesn't mean any policy geared towards addressing it should not be encouraged.

Hypocrisy, party affiliation and regional/ethnical sentiments are the foundations of Nigeria problems.

Shut up fool. They do away with policies that doesn't yield any positive result. Fools like you will continue to be fools, without asking question. The kidnappers that attacked train in kaduna the other day, are asking for ransome for there victims, but fools like you will not question why they are yet to be apprehended. Bigger fool, are there issues of killings and terrorism in America even with their positive policies as mentioned by you. Criminal! Questionnaire, did you care to ask the American government about the killings and terrorism still going on despite their positive policies?

I've gone through my screenshots and didn't see any criticism... Besides, criticism would come from certain persons who aren't satisfied with government policies especially when it is of disadvantage to their insincere business transactions but that doesn't stop government from implementation. National interest supercedes individual interest, go read about your constitution properly and civic education if you will humble yourself and do a proper research.

When the government closed borders, blocked social media and released terrorists in the name of "national interest" what did it achieve?

You guys always seem to confuse Buhari's interest with national interest, but don't worry, it is national interest you will use to eat.

Criticising poorly thought out policies are also in the interest of the nation, you would know that if you could actually think for yourself.

I have to ask because this is not something I should have to explain to an adult with data on his phone to search "UK sim registration process".

I have grown weary of government sheep asking silly and childish questions in an attempt to derail and distract.

If you want to act like children don't be surprised when you are treated as such.

You only quoted UK Mr I too know ajala traveler. You don't take a single sample and draw conclusion from it. I've gone through some countries and found out they linked their SIM to their national identity card.

Pantami ain't go no knowledge...

Nin- sim linking should be a continuous process

No deadline....no barring of sim card from making out going calls....and nothing should happen to people sim card who refused to link

The only thing they should insist on is that when ever you are buying a new sim...it must be linked.

With this ....gradually or as time goes on or rather many years later.....sim card not linked to nin will automatically not be in circulation and it will fizzle out on its own
exactly

I'm feeding well bro, and not depended on Buhari government. Closing the border was for a purpose even though it was implemented the wrong way as it should have been gradually done. Libya did it and she became self sufficient as compared to when it depended on imports. Previous government had fought social media and attacked personel of such like our darling Jonathan did when he instructed military to do so prior to his last election. Whatever that is happening to Nigeria today isn't unique to the personality of Buhari or his government.

If you are making an effort I should see a result, if not then I have every reason to call the effort nonsense, especially when it has huge potential for abuse by a despotic government.

I don't pray for your enemy or mine to be in same state I was when my phone was stolen because issues of phone or phone number won't be a priority. Beside, why block a sim that's of importance and was still going through tracking?

My phone was stolen, I blocked it the same day and got a new one next week, I still found the phone through IMEI tracking which you can do without a sim.

The purpose was idiotic and didn't achieve anything, no country that isn't at war with it's neighbours will close all land borders for years because of ordinary rice smuggling.

Libya did it and she became self sufficient as compared to when it depended on imports.

I don't give a damn about Libya, Nigeria is not Libya, mentioning them is irrelevant because the policy failed.

Previous government had fought social media and attacked personel of such like our darling Jonathan did when he instructed military to do so prior to his last election. Whatever that is happening to Nigeria today isn't unique to the personality of Buhari or his government.

Jonathan never blocked social media, closed the borders or released terrorists under a failed amnesty programme, these are unique to Buhari.

Regardless we should not be comparing failures when the new administration promised change.

Your phone was stolen and you were going through a tough time but you left it that way for weeks and are now using it as a point of argument online.

If you actually cared about your identity being stolen you would have blocked that sim immediately but you want to use your own lack of diligence as an excuse for government overreach.

This was the approach they chose but I think they've agreed to yank off all unlinked SIMs regardless. While this is not a bad step, let's see what they can achieve with this.
