President Goodluck Jonathan Wednesday approved the appointment of 18 aides for his office and that of Vice President Namadi Sambo
Secretary to the Government of the Federation , Senator Anyim Pius Anyim , in a statement in Abuja said the new aides will be sworn in by President Jonathan on Thursday by 2 pm at the Presidential Villa in Abuja

The aides include Mike Oghidomhe who retains his position as Chief of Staff to the President,Kachalla Mohammed, Deputy Chief of Staff to the President;Hassan Tukur ,Principal Secretary to the President;Prof. Abubakar Sambo,Special Adviser on Energy to th President;former Presidential Aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party,PDP,Mrs. Sarah Jibril,Special Adviser on Ethics and Values to the President;Mrs. Sarah Pane ,Special Adviser on Social Development to the President;Dr.Tunji Olagunju,Special Adviser on NEPAD to the President;Oronto Douglas who retains his position as Special Adviser on Research and Strategy to the President and Senator Joy Emordi, Special Adviser on National Assembly matters to the President

Others include Kingsley Kuku who retains his position as Special Adviser on Niger Delta Affairs to the President;Olakunle Osunyikanmi,Special Adviser on International Affairs to the President;Prof. Dan Adebiyi,Special Adviser on Special Duties to the President;Chairman of the Editorial Board of The Guardian Newspaper, Dr. Reuben Abati who is now the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the President;Mrs.Asma'u Abdulkadri,Special Adviser on Gender Issues to the President and Sullivan Nwakpo,Special Adviser on Technical Matters to the President

Also approved for Vice President Sambo are Yakubu Abdullahi, Special Adviser on Political Matters;Basir Sufyan,Special Adviser on Legal Matters and Isaiah Balat,Special Adviser on Special Duties

When SR said Abati was going to be named SA on media, the GEJ team denied it and some were quick to call SR all sorts. I hope they will be humble enough to apologise

Based on what? Complacency I tell you.

We are clamouring for reduction in the size of the government and jonathan is increasing it the more. All this only points to one fact: chop chop government. No concrete plans for revitalization of the economy. Nigeria sincerely needs a revolution that will eliminate all these corruption infested politicians.

There must be something about this Dr Tunji Olagunju. Virtually all regimes have been recycling him since 70s. Late General Musa Yar'Adua plucked him from ABU as private Assistant in the Mid 70s. IBB used him as Special Adviser and Minister of External Affair in late eighties, later Minister for Internal Affairs in till IBB left in 1993. Obasanjo also used him as High Commissioner to RSA in his civilian coming, Umaru Yar'adua continued, appointed him Special Adviser on NEPAD. He has retained same position in GEJ government.

i congratulate Prof. Abubakar Sani Sambo for a well deserved appointment. You are indeed a force to be rekon with right from your days of lecturer,VC,, DG energy commision. May God give you the wisdom to bring in your wealth of experince on energy matters.

Well it appears it is 3 times reduction of what we had earlier prior to the elections but then again we are seeing some of the porfolio not been necessary at all- which means 10 should be more than enough.
