The problem is that he isn't winnable. Nigerians are not yet ready for an Igbo president. But most importantly, the internet buzz that heralded Osinbajo' s declaration was unprecedented and points to him as the winner.

Aside that, he is sure of Northern votes if Buhari endorses him. Core Northerners are fanatical voters unlike the Southeast.

Osinbajo has the Yoruba votes in his pocket.

Winning the primaries will be his biggest challenge. However, GEJ's winning the presidential primaries against Atiku 2011 show that parties prefer to play safe and choose a popular candidate who is bound to win.

Tinubu may be popular but godfather politics will not be accepted easily by non-Yoruba politicians. In 2015, the members of both Houses jettisoned the consensus candidate chosen by the party and picked their own.

The sleaze associated with Tinubu will not win him favors with the Buhari but one can never know. Also, he is not the darling of Igbos who many feel marginalizes them and treats them as migrants in their own country.

If you are Obi's Northern/Western ally, would you travel down to a volatile Anambra state for just a traditional wedding or send a sincere goodwill message? We acknowledge the security challenges in our region at the moment and one has to be careful because congratulations are far more in order than condolences. Those who were present had one or more unavoidable reasons to be, don't forget these are political times and politics in my country is a "do or die" thing. Gradually, we will square up to these security concerns/challenges and overcome. Peace unto you.


NOTE: It is really not as bad as they try to make it look in the news. I've had numerous stays in the East in the last one year and I must say no incidences were witnessed or recorded in my area during my stay safe for the senseless Monday's involuntary home sitting.

The earlier u realise there is nothing like APC or PDP, the better for u. Orji uzor Kalu governed Abia state under PDP for 8years, he is now an APC senator

The APC u see today is made of 90% former PDP members. Buhari, Tinubu etc are just the few that have never been in PDP
