One thing I like myself for is that, I can't be compelled to getting addicted to whatever I don't want to be addicted to.

Let me say I also stake bet online, but I perpetually based my bet on fun, which means the risk of losing whatever I stake is minimal and nothing. And the interesting part is that I only stake like 3 times in a whole year.

If I stake games a couple of times or three times at most and I didn't win. I call it a quit, until another year when I feel like playing with some change I literally have no use for.

Betting spoils lives and render people useless when they make it a priority and their everyday route, most especially in white countries. Those one can bet with their family members grin

Drink and bet responsibly. People will not hear undecided

Hello everyone, my name is not necessary, I am 28 years old and I am on the verge of losing my job but the important thing here is that sport betting is about to ruin my life and career and I need help and advise from you all. It all started when my friend Bolaji(not real name) introduced me to this popular sport betting platform last year which I strongly believe that 80% of Nigerian youths would know or even use on a regular basis.

I started playing games on this platforms with the little money I made from side hustles,it was cool because I could still remember my first game; I staked #2000 on a match between Liverpool and a smaller club and I cashed out massively that weekend. I was so happy and all of a sudden I became greedy. I began to stake higher and started looking for higher and better odds to boost my winnings, I started staking with my salary and then it got worse that I started using my life savings to play games in which most time I don't win but still I won't back out hoping I would win back all my lost money in the next game ,I would even borrow money from my neighbors and friends as a matter of fact, I got a new name on the street: (BABA 2 ODDS)

Last week, my boss gave me #150,000 to go and deposit at the bank but instead I transferred the money into my betting account wallet hoping I could double the money. I predicted realmadrid to win on last week champions league match against Chelsea, though they qualified for the next round but they still lost to Chelsea. I almost ran mad at the viewing centre. Anyways my boss has been calling me since and I couldn't pick because I don't know what to tell him.....
Nairalanders I need your advise and help!!!

From what you said, I don't think your situation is that bad. Gambling in itself is one of the worst addiction you can think of. I lost everything I had worked for to gambling. I was a Revenue officer in a financial institution and I lost over $2,000 of company funds to gambling and for that I was sacked. It didn't end there, I was arrested and charged to court, remanded in prison for six weeks, came out sold all my property, and relocated. The stupid job I am doing now doesn't even pay as much as half of my former job. So bro, you MUST quit now before it ruins you completely.

My advice is for you to continue your side hustle to get his money back, if he's aware you have spend his money, he will surely use police to arrest you.

You have to be courageous enough to stand for yourself bro, I had played this shit before which I promised myself once never to get into it again, ever since then, I lost the interest. To the extend of hating people who ever bring bet9ja discussion before me. It's a decision you have to take and allow it to genuinely connect with your mindset thoroughly. Kudos

You need to get yourself distracted from betting. I was once like you but when I noticed that the path was not a right path, I quit by entering into crypto currency and forex. I spend much of my time researching more on crypto coin and thank God am making little money from it and that made me to forget about betting, I can't remember the last time I bet.

Don't go into sportbet unless you understand the system.

It is so unfortunate that many people place bet base on emotion and the little information they know thinking they will win.

It does not work.

If you know the secret I know about sportbet and you have my kind of discipline to only place a bet when all the factors are green, then you won't be in this condition.

Bros...you're suffering from greed, not sportbet. How can you use money that is not your own to place a bet. That's foolishness.

For a while now, I have been helping some Nairalanders to cash out on Nairabet because I know a secret loopholes in the system.

People pay me to tell them this secret. Anyway, if you cannot pay me....just jump and pass before someone starts to say that if I know it, why didn't I tell my family, friends and neighbours? He get reason.

Even though, I don't place bet everyday, anytime I need fast money, I just look at the secret and make cool cash on Nairabet.

Eh, I'm not enticing you. I'm only letting you to know that even if a odd is 1.14, it does not mean you will win.

The sportbet company use psychology to deceive many people, I have been able to decode their secret. Without knowing anything about a match, I can correctly predict the outcome based on the odds given to the games.

I specialise on over and under 2.5

Remember, I don't do this everyday, only when all factors are green and when I need quick money.

I have made crazy with this system during champions league matches and international country matches....it works like kilode.

See the last bet I placed below.

There is a limit to how much you can place a bet on most sportbet sites.

OP this is what you should do. Find someone (family, trusted/reliable friends, etc) and borrow the money you're owing your boss to pay back in 3-5 months time. Call your boss, apologize and tell him you fell seriously ill (to keep your job). Continue your side hustles, that plus your salary for 3-4 months should be enough to pay back your loan from your family member/friend.

Now your safe, but not entirely.

The real battle begins in convincing yourself that want is lost is lost and going back means you'll only lose more and maybe this time there won't be any family or friend to bail you out.

So the only way forward is started anew with your side hustles and job and keep developing yourself. Take care!

You don mad already na. By the way are you already in Yaba left?

Only greedy, lazy and visionless people gamble. Only irresponsible young workers gamble with monies belonging to not just other people but their bosses.

My advise is that you need to get your mind delivered. There are many of your likes out there who want to get rich quick by all means. Slow and steady wins the race. Hard work, contentment and sincerity pay.

Get a decent way of repaying your boss his money. It is within your power to stop sports betting and baba Ijebu. STOP IT TODAY.

You’ve got no other option than opening up to your boss on what you did with the money.

Although, it can be hard for a betting addict to quit, but you can do it only if you can set your priorities right.

I used to be in this mess, sometimes it's not all about reading this and that it's all about what i call "Mind commitment".

In reality, not all books changes someone if you don't work things out yourself.
You can read from now till thy kingdom come nothing changes if your mind is not ready to accept faults.

I was hooked in this thing called gambling always blaming devil for my addiction not even knowing I'm the devil, greed took me to a higher level of ignorance in a realm of imaginary riches.

How i stopped Gambling is just by his grace.
It all began like a film, just like i mentioned earlier "Mind commitment" , it took me just 5mins to decide on quitting or dieing, i held on to quitting without looking at all of my losses and it worked like magic.

I did not actually plan on quitting the day i quitted but it came as a force, as a will, as not an option, as if I'm going to die that day but all thanks to my will power of taking drastic decision of not wanting to live in penury.

Ever since i stopped Gambling, my life has changed for better, people come to me for financial help and i give without blinking.
I can feed my family comfortably, my son goes to a good school and in all people envy me now.

Though Gambling dealt with me mercilessly but overcoming it is the best thing that will ever happen to you in your life time because it kills gradually.

So @OP, just make up your mind even if you read all the positive comments here or you read all the books on how to stop Gambling if your mind is not yet made up you can't stop it, you just have to take the bull by the horns or you even carry the bull anyhow you deem it fit or want to because it is only you that can stop it not even your pastor, babalawo or whatever feltish means you feel is the best.

My 2cent.......

My bro it's not yet late .you can always make that life changing decision today .first admit gambling has a lot to do with the flesh, and you need self-control to break free from it.
Secondly they are list of highly sort after skills you could get involved in e.g

Affiliate marketing
Crypto trading
Nfts
GPS tracker installation

Choose one or better yet choose what you like and can do .and start-up .give your self 3-6 months to develop and that's it good bye to financial stress and gambling issues

At least you never go prison. You have two options here. Either you tell your boss what happened and face the consequences or get help somehow and redeem yourself. The most important thing is to stop gambling. Only few lucky ones breakthrough.

I have a friend who earns almost 300k monthly, but uses over 80% of it to service loans he got as a result of gambling.

I'm not totally innocent myself. It's destroying lives. God help us
Sport Bets only destroys greedy fellows .... It's the same as forex... If you can't control your emotions you are gone... Have been playing bet since 2012... It was ugly at first then .... I control the urge ... Now I do it for fun

I have been there before. You need prayers and discipline at this critical moment of your life. Like it or not, there are legions of demons luring and destroying lots of lives through sport betting. Self discipline and willingness to overcome the immense battle going through your mind is needed. The lies that demon keep telling you every time. If you are Christian, just run to Jesus and His help in prayers and faith in your heart and don't forget, your willingness to also let go.
