You have touched on a fascinating aspect of the Nigerian psyche that caught my attention in several responses to this thread which like yours expressed horror at the notion of wishing anybody dead, no matter how diabolical, evil, and murderous that person happens to be.

Particularly sobering is the fact that in Nigeria today, a petty thief caught stealing a handful of food in the market is very likely to be set upon by a hysterical screeching mob of "God-fearing citizens" who would not waste a moment to beat that famished pilferer to death and then ululate with joy as a petrol-soaked tire placed around the victim's neck is set alight so as to incinerate that fellow human being in the full view of impressionable children.

Obviously, the "God-fearing Nigerian citizens" who joyously burn non-violent petty criminals to death in the street do not experience a single fleeting moment of moral dilemma while they go about terminating human life in the most grotesque and hideous manner imaginable. By the same token, Nairaland writers who praise the lynch mob for a "job well done" in that extra-judicial murder, also feel no sense of moral ambiguity in expressing their fervent prayers that ALL petty thieves ought to suffer the same nightmarish fate in the mean streets of Nigeria.

With the aforementioned Nigerian blood-lust prominently in mind, I can only add that anyone who wishes a mass-murdering tyrannical despot an early and timely death is in fact expressing a wish for a better, saner world in which power-drunk lunatics at the helm of national power are edged into well-deserved physical extinction, and in which civilian citizens of ALL nations can go about their daily lives without being subjected to the ravages of an unwarranted expansionist war declared by a single unhinged madman whose abundantly deserved death will be joyously celebrated by all right-thinking human beings aboard this spinning blue dot called Earth.

In summary therefore, pellow kwantirimans, if you count yourselves among those "God-fearing Nigerians" who cheer with sadistic delight whenever a human being is burnt to death by a street mob because 20 naira worth of dried fish was stolen in the market, then I count myself among the citizens of this world who fervently wish and pray that those who revel in acts of mass murder and genocide meet their fate of early violent death in a most expeditious and timely manner.

This is a balanced and objective assessment. While my dire conclusions about Mad Vlad's health may be at variance with the more optimistic synopsis that you offer regarding Mad Vlad's prognosis, I certainly agree that WW3 is to be avoided at all costs, given that such a calamity has the potential to depopulate most of this planet very quickly, regardless of where on the map those first missiles rain down.
