Campaign don start. This is the first salvo from the opposition. I see APC resuscitating Atiku's controversial Cameroonian citizenship and Atiku cannot enter the US mantra in days to come

They cannot use that because Atiku rewrote the history in 2019.

However, that doesn't mean that Atiku isn't a criminal.

Buhari really disappointed many people. The first day I knew Nigeria is in trouble was during the presidential media chat, shortly after he resumed power.
The media panel ask the president a certain question on revenue generation, during one if his replies,he kept repeating custom and exercise, custom and exercise, instead of custom and excise.I was like what the F! sad
That was his first and only presidential media chat.
To avoid more embarrassing moments his media team have to do away with the presidential media chat.

That one good. Didn't u watch the media interview during the 2019 elections on NTA where presidential candidates & running mates where interviewed? Any question they asked buhari he will first lean over & ask osinbajo what was asked before he will know what to say. Even at that, he will yarn dust. Many nigerians saw that but still voted for buhari

Buhari is a real definition of scam. He robbed Nigerian with his sugarcoated mouth promises. Almost 8 years gone, and he’s yet to fulfill his campaign promises. Refineries still not working, Ajaokuta steel still not working, Manbilla hydropower still not working, Naira has lost 230% of its strength. Insecurity on high scale. Education is zero. Unemployment, poverty are on a high rise.

Buhari is disaster, disaster is Buhari

Yorubas (both muslims and christians) are withdrawing support for Buhari gradually.

Speak for yourself and stop the wiked falsehood!
The Yorubas can make politicial decisions without any reference or dependants- so we have APC Members in Yoruba land and even PDP Members( Makinde) as well, unlike others that goes in one way traffic! That's why the Yorubas are sophisticated!
To our Southern brothers,how now?
So Emmanuel Udom cannot step down for Wike- his neighbour, yet Tambuwal did just that to Atiku, yet the Southern People are yet to see anything,as they are greedy and can only be retired to second rate in polical matters!
They forget one thing- the northern people are always united in polical matters and they don't have restrictions in voting- everybody votes!
Shame to our Southern brothers,everywhere!

The important bit of the article was the subsidy.

It is a conduit for corruption, and also a yoke on the economy, and yes the cost rises.

But try to get rid of it...Nigerians start protesting. Apparently we should sink more money into the monster.

Also, the article is very correct about the other points raised. APC as usual does not have good economic management.

Crucially, the big problem with our economy is that it is hooked up to the price of whatever raw material we are selling. For Nigeria it is oil. And we don't set the price, so when prices are low, the economy goes down.

We could have weaned ourselves off that by being more productive (removing subsides on petrol and power would have helped) and raising our tax on the gdp from its low 8.1%...so that we could have more cash to spend, and more jobs to boot.

Instead we kept on doing faux removal of subsides, and also kept on doing the same old corruption over and over again.

The sad thing is, we need to change our economic paradigm from 'we have to sell raw materials to earn enough money' to 'we have to be productive to earn more money'

The oil sector could have made us a lot of money....if we hadn't made it unprofitable to refine crude here by subsidising it to keep prices low. Same for power, and same for a lot of sectors. Removing subsides on crude in 2015, while it means high prices,(and by removing subsides, I mean government spends nothing on underrecovery or subsidy at all, and allows prices to be set by the marketer, not DPR)..would have sparked investment in refineries, and more jobs (and GEJ wanted to do that, but the same apc members stopped him, now the issue hangs on their neck and they too refuse to remove it because politics).

Then there is security too, which is in a bad state, and which isn't helped by the poor funding for the police, which breeds more corruption.

Finally, we don't earn enough revenue from taxes, which puts pressure on the revenue we earn from crude, which isn't enough, which leads to us getting less and less...for subsidsing things like educaiton health and fuel prices.

We have to face reality, and it starts by voting out APC next year, but the sad thing is that PDP and the other parties would do the same thing APC does....unless someone is courageous enough to be more realistic, and to actually fight corruption.

Why will anyone allow a people that vehemently denied something to get rid of it? If they truly want Nigerians to believe their sincerity as regarding subsidy, they should first admit they lied and then apologise before we start talking of removing subsidy. By fragrantly lying to people, this government has lost its right to govern. Only in this part of the world will you see such shameless people parading themselves as agents of change.

Lying or no, let the subsidy go.

Even removing it is a admission they lied

But the truth is, Nigerians do not want subsidy gone, not because of 'lying' but because most people think of it as a 'benefit'
