We argued with an APC member in 2019 after the elections and I told him that if PDP fielded a northerner in 2023 most of these lightweight politicians especially in the north would defect from wherever to the PDP. Their only hope is to align with who they think will form central government. We will see what will happen after the primaries this night.

This is their exact calculation! I've been saying it in different fora.
Those Northern governors rooting for Southern presidency are not being sincere about it. They don't want to dive Northern votes among two presidential candidates from the same region (Atiku vs Lawan).

The last minute inner discussion with Lawal, (SP) is to sell the idea to him to step for Southern candidate, so that they can maintain a single block votes for Atiku in the North. That was a safe landing calculation for the North. Tinibu can't win Atiku we all know.

You see why we are blaming Yorubas for giving opportunity to the Northern cabals to play ping-pong politics with the South. Whether you like it or not, the Northern is far ahead in politics.
