Jail na jail. At the end, they can imprision one in a five star hotel, and give one gourmet meals thrice daily...but nothing beats freedom of movement...and at the end, a poor guy has more freedom of movement than any one locked up in a five star hotel as prision.

British jails too are not that 'posh'. Noisy, crowded, and many of their jails are ageing.

But they chose to not express concern over what the innocent poor boy might have gone through.. as if the life of the boy is inferior to that of Ekweremadu. Bunch of buffoons and dingbats leaders

No amount of concern being expressed by them will bring back the man anytime soon, UK government will take their time to the maximum to investigate the matter and will only release him and his wife if they find them innocent.

I think Ekweremadu put himself into this mess, with his level of exposure and education coupled with that of his wife 'a medical doctor', it took them nothing carrying out compatibility test on that Daniel boy in one of Nigeria's hospitals before even taking him out of here, but you know what? He won't, simply because he and other politicians have no trust in our health system hence the reason they never passed any reasonable bill to equip our hospitals and better the lives of our heath workers.

Actually, there are a lot of private hospitals that can do the tests, and some of our teaching hospitals have transplant ability.

Also, while I agree Nigerian leaders are ultimately to blame for bad hospitals...our healthcare funding is too low for a nation our size. Still, these leaders have failed to address our poor financial state.

If he was innocent and not planning to use the boys head as a lawyer, I will think he would present a certified document with the appropriate ministry input where the boy agreed to give out his kidneys in exchange for a job or even money.

This is exactly what the British prosecutors would hammer on... he has family members and relatives whom he could have approached for a kidney BUT he decided to buy a kidney from a poor young man.

Also, wonder why the Ekweremadu's did not use a close relative. That comes with a higher chance of getting a match for their daughter. A random person, even if it is the same racial group cannot give a match most of the time.

72 hours is the time given for the cops who have arrested one to charge them with something. If they have nothing to charge them with at that time then they can let thrm go..

It does not mean they are off the hook. If they find evidence that x and y did a.crime then they arrest them with charges and nothing like72 hours there.

Whehter one arested is guilty of the charges is up to the court to decide. As is whether they can be freed on bail. ( depends on nature of crime too)

Why should anybody give a damn whether Ike Ekweremadu rottens in jail in the UK or not? After all, he is part of the problem with LIEGERIA. All the funds that he stole would have been enough to build a state of the art hospital in his state of origin, hence he would have no reason to travel abroad to get treatment for his daughter's kidney malaise. I hope he gets to feel what millions of LIEGERIANS are feeling because of his fraudulent and corrupt behaviors.
