YourBestWriter: Management is not a job, management is a position you grow into based on years of accumulated experience. Management doesn't depend on IQ quotient or academic qualifications, management capabilities comes from actually growing through the ranks to attain a certain level, and then leading people through almost the same or similar routes which you have navigated on different projects or tasks. Actually the success of any team greatly, largely and astronomically depends on the managers ability to manage. The team almost always expect the leader to know what to do, and this confidence to lead comes from years of experience. So your friend can either decide to stay put and probably wrestle to keep afloat, or he could just find a way to actually be a manager overnight. 4 Likes 1 Share |

This is 2022, most skills can be learnt without going to university. I had a two year MBA at federal university in Nigeria and i couldn't remember if i learnt anything. A total waste of my time and money. I would have gone to learn barbing /auto mechanic or taken some IT certifications with my time. 3 Likes 1 Share |

YourBestWriter:He should assume the responsibilities of the job given to him and learn. There are courses on management online and books too to facilitate his transition. Except if he likes to go back to his house and sit at home. The favour of God has given him opportunity it's left for him to make good use of the opportunity 1 Like |

oluwaseyi0: 1. You are not a fraud based on your explanation. How? The management of that company agreed to retain you, and based on this foundation, you are being paid for that purpose. The management know what exactly they are doing, especially if the project done is highly expensive ab initio! 2. Don't feel bad, you had laboured to put the project in right perspective as demanded by the same organisation who believes in your ability and continuity. You are reaping what you had sown. Be grateful to God that works of your hands are speaking for/ profitable to/ counting for: you. What you should prepared for: When the project is having issues, then your experience should be used to solve the problem as fast as possible. This will increase your market value and your proficiency for the organisation to even pay you more. Be prepared to overcome challenges that may come in the future. Be ready, those challenges will come. It could be sporadic, simultaneous or one off thing. 2 Likes |

YourBestWriter: Tell that your friend or yourself that he needs to buckle up, be hardworking, focused and be proactive. Tell him to study patterns. Tell him to continue to ask a leading and curious questions about how to be a good manager from some good superior that are not competing for his success. Tell him to study different types of managerial styles and adopt one quickly ,then later change the style as he progresses on the job experience. Learn every tactics and tricks of that job. Read very widely on how to manage such job. He needs to be patient and learn faster on the job. There is time for everything, this is not a right to be discouraged. Class of degree does not interpret roles, people do! My 2 cent. 1 Like |

novia22: Which resources are you talking about? So even without the necessary education, if you're employed today as a surgeon in a well-equipped hospital, you'll do excellently well. That's interesting! You must be a genius then, a rare kind I must add. |

As a manager what's expected of him is to have some basic skills in resolving issues, forecasting, communicating effectively, critical thinking , emotional intelligence, planning, cost controller, dispute and claims resolution, proactiveness, new initiatives and ideas. Time and resources management, empathy, Good team player and lead. He should buy lots of books on management and performance. What is expected of a manager is Growth of an organisation. He should look for areas where the company is failing and give proposals on how to make it better He should take on new initiatives, challenge the status quo of the organisation. Don't always go with the crowd, always be excellent. 1 Like |
