Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso was on born Oct. 21, 1956 in Kwankwaso, a village located in Madobi LGA of Kano State. His father was the village head of Kwankwaso with the title of Sarkin Fulani, Dagacin Kwankwaso; he was promoted to the District Head of Madobi with the title of Majidadin Kano, Hakimin Madobi by the Kano Emirate Council of Emir Ado Bayero.

He attended Kwankwaso Primary School, Gwarzo Boarding Senior Primary School, Wudil Craft School and Kano Technical College before proceeding to Kaduna Polytechnic where he did both his National Diploma and Higher National Diploma.

Kwankwaso was an active student leader during his school days and was an elected official of the Kano State Students Association.

He also attended postgraduate studies in the United Kingdom from 1982 to 1983 at the Middlesex Polytechnic; and Loughborough University of Technology where he received a master’s degree in water engineering in 1985.

He also got his PhD in water engineering at Sharda University India in 2022.

Kwankwaso joined the Kano State Water Resources and Engineering Construction Agency of the Government of Kano State in 1975. He served there for seventeen years in various capacities and rose through the ranks to become the principal water engineer.

Kwankwaso made his entry into politics in 1992 on the platform of the Social Democratic Party (SDP). He was a member of the People’s Front faction of the SDP led by Gen. Shehu Yar’adua.

He was elected as a member of the House of Representatives representing Madobi Federal Constituency. His subsequent election as deputy speaker in the House brought him to the limelight of national politics.

During the 1995 Constitutional Conference, Kwankwaso was elected as a delegate from Kano, as a member of the People’s Democratic Movement led by Yar’adua.

He later joined the Democratic Party of Nigeria (DPN) in the transition programme of late head of state, Gen. Sani Abacha.

Kwankwaso joined the PDP in 1998 and was elected as the governor of Kano State in 1999, but he lost his re-election bid in 2003. After he lost his re-election in 2003, he was appointed the Minister of Defence by former President Olusegun Obasanjo.

He was re-elected as the governor in 2011 and in 2015 he was elected as Senator representing Kano Central on the platform of APC.

In 2015, Kwankwaso unsuccessfully contested the presidential primaries nomination on the platform of APC, but lost to Buhari. In 2018, he returned to PDP and contested the presidential primaries losing out to Atiku Abubakar.

He remained in the PDP until May 30, when he defected to the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP).

On June 8, Kwankwaso emerged as the presidential candidate of the NNPP for the 2023 general elections.

Kwankwaso, who was the sole presidential aspirant, emerged at the party’s special convention in Abuja.

Not a bad CV but the problem has never been CV.

The problems are always:
- Lack of clear vision of the direction the country should go
- Compensatory appointments that disregard competence in favour of political expedience
- Lack of practical ideas to go in the projected direction
- Deliberate mismanagement of resources
- Weak supervision of appointees to allow looting for their support for 2nd term bid while in 1st term
- Lack of open and humble mindset to solicit for and accept revolutionary ideas from anywhere.

Lol.... Even when a post has nothing to do with Peter Obi, you Tinubu urchins will find a way to bring him inside..... The obsession is real.

The way you guys scrutinize Peter Obi, if you have used that same zeal to scrutinize your bullion van lord, maybe by now, he would have released all his certificates.

For someone that graduated with Second Class, he went on to attend several business schools and headed several leadership roles in various companies.... What have you personally achieved?

pls why is Kano an Educationally disadvantaged state and what is kano position in WAEC?

pls am waiting for ur answers tnx cool

Moh247:

Explain what you mean by educationally disadvantage specifically

Because according to United Nations Human Development Indexes Kano isnt

If it's about out of school children then it has nothing to do with education ... That's cultural preference for Arabic knowledge over western knowledge
Gosh this is the kind of illiterates championing Tinubu..

The mere fact that u brought am Human development index in the topic of Education shows how shallow ur intellect is..

Ok now lemme come down to ur level so that ur childish brain can comprehend...
for Gods sake, I asked u why despite all Kwankwaso investments in education, why is it that Kano state still an Educationally less disadvantaged or developed state?? By that I mean for example if u are seeking admission to UNN, the cut of mark will be high eg 250 for an Enugu indigent, but lower if ur from Kano eg 180.. why is that?

See the picture below and u will see Kano there..

And what is the position/ranking of Kano state in WAEC comparedwoth that of Anambra?

Am not sure u even attended University, Na thugs like u dey always campaign for una godfather Tinubu

This is added reason why u need Peter Obi in order to have quality education grin

We need to speak with verifieble facts

Kano have specific slot in all unity all unity schools same as Anambra.. each slot is to be filled according to how the state wants

Kano gives more kids opportunity to school while Anambra government ensures little selected few get the slot

. Go and check very well, the admission into unity schools is an examination based, and cut off mark are issued out after the examination, the cut mark for kano is 12 for males while females is 6 ,likewise other northern states that of south east states are nothing less than 200 depending on the year's examination go and verify, no northern state cut off mark is up to 30 marks, they called themselves education backwards States, they used quota system to hype them, that is why graduates from the north are half baked , now that court have quashed that quota system marks let see how it goes, the fear now is students from southern states will take over the schools in the North under the dangerous conditions of the Fulani terrorist, let the few northern students who passed stay there and no southern students should go north, let them close others , no southern students will be used to appease those dogs like they used those chibok girls to settle their men
