The Abuja - Kaduna - Zaria - kano expressway is by far the most busiest and most important road in northern Nigeria.
The length of this highway (373km) connects the Federal Capital Territory, Kaduna, Zaria and Kano. These are by far the vastly developed and highly populated cities in the entire northern region. This means high vehicular movement on this single highway alone.

Julius Berger is contracted to construct this entire length of road at a full cost of N779,000,000,000 (seven hundred and seventy nine billion naira)
This is the most expensive single road project ever constructed not just in Nigeria but in west Africa
it is being undertaken by the President Muhammadu Buhari Administration and partly funded under the Presidential Infrastructure Development Funds (PIDF)

The Documentary below covers why this road cost a lot to construct, The new methods of construction used, the politics behind it and weather it is justifiable

We all know that they inflate project costs in Nigeria. It's worse in this government considering that Fashola did a lot of that in Lagos and has brought that madness to the centre.

The same man who used 78 million to upgrade his website and 139 million to sink two boreholes in Lagos. Nobody should be surprised. cheesy

In any case, we really need to commend Buhari for embarking on these key Trunk A projects, including the 2nd Niger Bridge that PDP and Jonathan used to play a lot of politics.
