The individual was hyping free medical care of the U.S. as part of the comforts. I'm positive that the person making N24m annually will not take their family to a general hospital in Nigeria. FMC possibly, but mostly to a private clinic. Such person will be frustrated with what Medicaid/Medi-Cal offers. cococandy: 1 Like 1 Share |

starstunna1313: Don’t blame them. I had this conversation with my friend recently. Nigerians would see a salary of 600k and be asking why you want to relocate. Lol! 600k is currently less than $1000. Some tech bros are earning way more than that in a month from Nigeria. I am not saying it is not a lot of money, but I believe most Nigerians are moved by it because majority of us earn less than 250k. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Speaks so much about you, no wonder you're supporting Atiku. My mission is to convince anyone not to vote Atiku because of Okowa, he's a total failure and not fit. Atiku will lose come 2023, Amen 1 Like 1 Share |

With that kind of salary... you're just a child's kidnap away from losing five year's pay to kidnappers... That's if another kidnapping team doesn't get the OT and targets that same child or another member of your family to lose another five years' pay....you do that twice in a row and you're done for life.... especially if you had to borrow for ransom in any of or both cases 1 Like |

You came at me in an insulting way. I will reply you with facts. If you had comprehended my write-up, I made reference to someone who is already not just very well educated, but skilled. I called them "professionals". You may want to get a dictionary and check out what that means. So yes, this my friend already has a job waiting for him in Artificial Intelligence that will pay in excess of six figures. If you have adequate comprehension, you would have realised that someone who earned N36m in a bank in Nigeria is not a fresh graduate. But comprehension is a problem. Moreover, if you just get off your lazy ass and google roles such as "Head of Cyber Security", "Cloud Security Architect", etal, you will find that men and women all over this country are earning high six figure salaries. That you live in a world where people earn £50k does not mean that is the entire spectrum of earning. I do not demean or belittle anyone who earns £50k. That is actually a decent pay in this country. Finally, for a stranger to say I don't have a clue, is a great laugh. It tells about where you are in life and what sort of character you have, for you to say that to someone whose antecedents you do not know. I guess you've got the mojo to say that because you found me on this site. You as a typical Nigerian, not expect guys like me to come to sites like this. So you make the assumption that everyone on this site is a riffraff or good for nothing or whatever else you conjure in your mind. I've got no response to that other than to encourage you to get an education: not the type you get in the classroom. The type you get from aspiring to be better than you are today and being open to possibilities. Talawaka: |

It's always good to think things through and follow the data when we make analysis. How much is N2m in Canadian dollars? That is CAD$6,211 a month. How much is the average cost of a three bed apartment say in Ontario where they guy's family lives? CAD$4,400. How much of that N2m is left after rent alone? How will the guy in Nigeria take care of other expenses for his family out in Canada? How will he then begin to pay for a decent accommodation in Nigeria for himself, let alone take care of his own personal needs including car, electricity, fuel, feeding etc? A little digging gives perspectives. If the people you know are Nigerian thieves, then that is a different ball game as they can afford to do all of the above using stolen funds that are not their salary. As for me and my friends, we speak about money that is legitimately earned. My friend didn't have to tell me how much he earned while in Nigeria. I know how much people at his level and position earn where he worked. N36m was actually an understatement so you guys on here won't go crazy. I know all that most of you guys hear and talk about are how Nigerians are struggling here in the UK. But you'd be surprised to learn that some of us save far more than that N36m others earn in Nigeria after tax. But that is not the point. I didn't come to this country thinking about the money I would make. I would have stayed back in Nigeria if that were the case and become a Nigerian thief. I came here for peace of mind, a sense of security and most importantly, I did not want to succumb to the pressure to steal. It is the same thing that is driving many young professionals from Nigeria. Moreover, what can N24m a year actually get you in Nigeria if you are one of those determined to live a good life? How much is a duplex in say Lekki, right? How much is the add on fees for that duplex each year? How much is the nice type of car you'd want to drive to impress? How much is the school fees of your kids, as I expect they'd be in private schools? When you add just these few things up, you'd find that a guy who earns N24m in Nigeria is actually struggling and will find living abroad a better option. Unless he is the type of frugal guy who will even be frugal against himself and his family. SeaTrade: |

cococandy: Add Financial Analyst/ Accountants/ investment bankers to that list. A close acquaintance who worked for Deloitte Nigeria as a senior experienced associate relocated to Ireland, and got a job at KPMG as an Assistant Manager with a very decent pay. You don't want to convert that to naira, even after tax deductions. 1 Like |

Anaya4life: Inflation is everywhere, not only Nigeria. Infact there is rail strike ongoing in the UK now. I think the difference between Nigerian and other countries is, while working you will get paid, no one owes u. Your people abroad are not all living the good life. Majority of the iph0nes, new shoes are loans. While most people won't c9me back is there is actually plenty menial work, 24hrs light, internet and general safety. Despite the stress, obviously no one will want to come back to the country |

baby124:Still not getting it. You have to make 79k to 96k to afford 2k month apt since proof of income of 25-33% is requiref. If you’re in this income range, you can take care of your family, college savings, and insurance. People in the income range in Naija still suffer power outage and lack of specialty medical care. Btw, I have a brother in law who makes N50m+ A yr and still complains. |

frog12: I have a friend who’s currently unemployed and broke.. medicaid still covers him. He pays zero $$ . He gets dialysis 3x a wk at zero cost… While your Deputy Senate president-Ekwetemadu is locked up in UK prison for trying to help his daughter who’s in a similar predicament. The richest and most powerful in Naija is in detention in UK… while brokest Naija guy in the US is receiving treatment in the US. Broke Nigerians in Naija think that Nigeria is the best cos they have not really experienced serene environment where you dont have to know anybody to get a fair shot at life.. Tinubu gets his medical treatment from EU/US. Buhari wont be alive without UK healthcare. Peter Obi wont be rich with US companies like Heinz, Kraft, Ainheizer Busch.. Osinanjo has 90% of investments in $$€€..because he doesnt trust Naira and Naija. All his kids got schooled in the US.. lol. Your only hope is that one day, you get in power and loot.. and it’s not going to happen. It has taken BAT over 35yrs to win a presidential ticket of a major political party.. who are you without name and $$$ lol 2 Likes |
