as for number 3, I wonder if you live in Nigeria..do you think Government doesnt know it is truly a wasted venture subsidizing fuel..when diesel was deregulated as wells as LPG and those in the business are allowed to determine the pricing..were Nigerians smiling ? now you want the same for PMS? even when we still import it?

This is why we need to start cutting imports starting with the ones that eat up our foreign reserves the most..which is fuel..other government failed in this...this government supported Dangote to start his refinery early enough...something should have happened way early if not because we had daft leaders like Yar adua who ignored him and wicked state governors at that time who didnt want to sell lands..

trust me the only way to reduce the rate of naira devaluation is to ban fuel import leave manufacturing of tech items and machineries for now

no government tenure has ever withness three global economic shocks caused by 2014 Oil slump, 2020 covid 19, 2022 russia and ukraine which affected diesel prices and pushed inflation further..


The objective of government should be making life easier within a robust and sustainable economy. That has little to do with foreign reserves or sourcing of fuel.

More important than the source of fuel is PRICING. The government has to deregulate not only fuel prices but all other prices including forex. Yes, that means floating the naira. Take a look around the world, the general tendency is that the more flexible currencies have more productive and prosperous economies.

Economy doing well ..and 700 naira to a dollar, fuel 170 per litre, kerosene 800 nara per litre, diesel 850 per litre, lack of electricity power supply, high costs of food stuffs, ASUU on strike, federal government collecting loan from China to fund the budget and pay salaries, unemployment high, bussinesses, companies, industries struggling to survive the hard economy, importing fuel instead of refining and producing fuel, disel, kerosene locally, the 4 refineries not working..all dead, ajakuta steel company not working, insecurity everywhere, poor quality education and health care....I do not know if this minister of finance even went to school sef...or she attended night school.. because the way she talks about matters concerning the economy and country... surprises me
