Johnny147147: You can’t “afford” what you do not produce… Same thing with the US dollar rate, by the way. We produce raw materials (crude oil)… But FOOLISHLY import finished products. That’s like producing cocoa or cow hide (kpomo)… And wondering why you can’t “afford” chocolate or leather. > 1 Like |

I do not think I understand this arrangee government any more. This blame game and corruption in the background will further damage the no reputation of the country. New fuel prices were announced to the whole world, the so called government kept mute. Yet now claiming subsidy is still being paid. Who are the recipients. Any fund paid aw subsidy since the day the new pump Price was implemented must be investigated and refunded. This ineptitude is too much from this government There is no coordination between operators, regulators and possibly government. The system has collapsed. When the President finds it difficult to take tough decisions. |

Sylva, i di very stupid. So the marketers increased unilaterally for over 2 weeks now and you are just finding out. In other words you have calculated the subsidy over these 2 weeks on the old pump price while still collecting extra N10 increase per litre from us. On consumption of over 50 million litres per day you have short changed us with over 50 million x 14 days x N10 which is equal to N7 billion and still counting. You guys are clowns 1 Like |

Na wao... Since fuel costs more to import, did they increase the amount of subsidy to match? Where are the marketers supposed to the balance from if they dont increase their sales price? To be honest sha, subsidy or not, we are paying the full market price, either directly or indirectly through lack of funding for services and infrastructure |

2mercy: Government of lies. Last I checked they criticized JEG for paying subsidy and they said there was no need. During JEG era fuel was #65, now it's #195 and they said they are not paying subsidy? Crude oil price is falling globally as advanced countries find alternatives like electricity, solar etc which reduce pollution and cheaper while it's costly in the producing country. We have spent billions of dollars to rehabilitate refineries and yet Nigeria is still refining refineries outside the country. Government of lies and wastage. 1 Like |
