It all happened in Ilorin which is a Yoruba land. Afonja was allowed to govern Ilorin by Oyo empire. Then he had a problem with Oyo king hence invited Alimi for charms. Alimi started bringing some of his people into the town while telling afonja that they will help him to defeat Oyo King if Oyo king tries to punish him. In the end, the Fulani people killed afonja in the end. That was it. The Yoruba people are still in Ilorin till now. They speak Yoruba 100%.
