Ok,

I think you need to review your drugs with a cardiologist.

Some of these drugs have adverse effects.

i actually expected the doctor to give you a beta blocker but that's his choice anyway

Why B-blocker?

Hypertension in the young needs specialist input and not just medication.
If could be essential hypertension in which case medication and lifestyle is appropriate,

But It could be secondary causes, which needs investigating and treatment in addition.

God be for you

You need to be educated about blood pressure. It occur due to the blockage of blood vessels vein and arteries by Sodium Na that is in the common salt, so reduce your salt intake, it can also be hereditary. There are so many drugs in the market that when you use it will clear your blood vessels and you leave a normal life. Garlic is also highly effective in tackling blood pressure. It is not a death sentence and high blood pressure is even better. Because it mean your heart is over working, low is the worst it mean your heart can just give way. Reduce your anxiety also

It is scary…I know I have been battling it for sometimes now….I returned to Nigeria few weeks ago for a funeral and used the opportunity to run some test…I was amazed that ulcer was added to my resume…although I know that I have High BP and high sugar in my blood…two bad conditions…I used exercise…eating right to control my BP and Sugar…however, when I was back in Nigeria…I went to one place that guys chill every morning to take herb mix with hot drinks…

I was amazed when I started asking the woman about medicine for Ulcer…she had it…BP…I can prepare it…Diabetics…yes of course…I didn’t believe it…I asked her to prepare it all so I will go back with it…she even add Man power join…Boy o boy…when I come back…prepare it and started taking it…

Everything just fall in line…my BP dropped to normal…my Sugar is no longer above 100…sometimes it dropped to the point my body begin to shake in want of sugar…I just go to Cold Stone and buy ice cream…I also think that my Ulcer is co operating because they symptom I usually told my doctor about and he couldn’t figure it out…is no longer severe…,

In all brother…drop in energy might not be what you wanted and believe me…it is! BP is a silent killer…We keep hearing about people that slump and die…most of them see those warning sign but did nothing to control it….all along…I use control mechanism…exercise…relaxation when it is high and avoiding some foods that are catalyst to control it till I find solution…

Just find other ways…or energy foods to add to your menu and you will build the energy back…

Don’t be overly anxious about drop in energy but do research and find ways to increase it:

HBP is hereditary. But taking all those drugs (Amlodipine, Vasoprin etc ) will make it worse over time. Contentious intake could lead to serious cold, hearing issue, even though it's purpose is to regulate the BP. They are designed to be taken for the rest of one's life, so the earlier you stop it and start depending on natural drugs and have a change of life style the better for you. The following common herbs will will control BP; Ginger, garlic, tumeric, glove and Beet root, when combined together. The good thing with then is that, they have no side effect, and they are natural. I'm talking from experience.
exactly. I stop taking bp meds, beetroot and garlic, plus ginger mix all like juice, I was surprised my bp went from 161 to august 131 just for only two days o. I can never take bp meds never, even my kidney function was 56, now it’s 72 bro there’s wonders in nature I must attest.

Greetings to you all.

Since birth till date (I'm 31) I have never fallen sick to a point were a test is recommended, so I have never had a medical test all my life.

Sometimes when I feel feverish or down in anyway I usually buy malaria and typhoid medicines and that usually work for me.

But some time in 2018, (I was 27 then) I was informed by my uncle's wife that she was going to do a free medical outreach in our village as her own way of helping people (she's a nurse in U.S) and she told me she would like me to be present to help organize and sort out things to make the work easy for medical professionals she invited to do their work.

Majority of the people that turned up were oldies so we had loads of work to do bring in chairs for the overwhelming turn up.... people's blood pressure and blood sugar were check and they also had eyes test and corrective lenses were given.

Now, after the whole exhausting exercise, my auntie as a fondly call her asked all of us that worked to also check our BP and blood sugar, which took turns and did as instructed.

My blood sugar was normal according to the nurse but my BP was something else, 105/156... she immediately called my auntie's attention to it and she opted to check me herself using another equipment, she did and it came as 110/160..... she told me it's really very high and considering my age shouldn't be.

Prior to that event I have never felt anything awkward or unusual, I play football and do almost all exercises a young guy will want to do... it's also pertinent to note that I do not smoke and even though i drink beer i dont exceed 2 bottle because i have "light brain" like they will always say.

She ("my auntie"wink asked the senior doctor present to exchange contacts with me so that at intervals of 1 or 2 weeks I will always go check my BP and see if it will reverse to normal.... I went to his private clinic twice and the results was always high so he, on the second occasion gave me a card of 10mg drugs...

I took the whole card as direct and came back to the clinic this time the result was 100/138, he now asked me to always check it at any pharmacy store near me and always have the aforementioned medicines available.
The doc. asked me not to be taking it daily anymore but only when it's high (above 100/140), I have kept to this routine ever since...

Now my problem here is, in recent time I find myself feeling more week and dizzy and I dont even know how to describe the feelings cry cry
I become very worn out after 45 minutes football unlike me, I barely play now.

My auntie travelled back and seems to forgotten everything she promised, I call and no response and I hate pestering people.
I want a solution to this BP thing, I feel bad about it all the time and always ashamed to even mention it sad
I feel I'm gradually going downhill health wise....I need help and I need it urgently please...... I can't take anything more than this cry
People in twenties and thirties now have high BP especially if one of the parents has HBP. All medical tests will be negative yet the BP will be high.HBP can be genetic. As for how yiu feel now, I want to believe they are having side effects of the drugs yiu are taking. Yiu will be fine!

You are not alone, I discovered that my BP is always high while in 300L, probably 25-26 years. The Doctors couldn't believe it, am 33 now and anytime I try checking it it's always high. So a doctor told me that I should try and be correcting it, that it's not unusual and prescribed Lisinopril 5mg... I don't smoke but I drink. But I noticed anytime I enter the hospital or come closer to anyrhing medical, am always tensed.

Check your sodium intake.

Bread alone has lots of salt content in it.

Cut down. Drink lots of water, exercise and sleep at least, 7hrs daily.
Re: High BP At A Young Age, What Could Be The Cause by AdeMoss: 2:48pm On Aug 25, 2022
Your case is most likely biological/hereditary.
It is unfortunate most people have the misconceptions about high BP, if you live soft life, no stress, exercise= no BP. Yet, we've seen footballers collapse on the pitch or people die after sex due to heart attack. It can happen to anyone and if you are prone to it, you might have to be on medication for the rest of your life.
Re: High BP At A Young Age, What Could Be The Cause by pinknipple: 2:49pm On Aug 25, 2022
Your systolic blood pressure is good, but your diastolic Is quiet high.

Just like in quicksand condition, you only get drawn by it when you PANIC,else you will be fine.
Drugs are the major cause of HBP,as they can not work properly without increasing an existing BP.

Do you know that growth(both in organ)enables slight increase Bp?.

Just don't go and start taking BP medication,as it does more harm than good.

Finally, read up WHITE COATS HYPERTENSION.

Sadly, high blood pressure is a prevalent disease even in the US. In Nigeria, quite a number of people are walking around without knowing their blood pressure is high because it’s a silent disease.
Personally, I controlled my blood pressure by taking the following
Blend cloves of garlic
Blend ginger
Lemon juice
Honey
Take small quantities each, mix together the drink before eating anything in the morning. Monitor your b.p in 2weeks and thank me later…….

Looking at all of the answers, I'm amazed at such ignorance, someone who said you need to be educated claims salt blocks the arteries/blood vessels.. I think I've to write in everyone's mention.. However to you in particular, there's nothing wrong with you as long as you don't experience angina on the left side of your chest. If you do, then mention me,i can change my write-up. Your lifestyle needs to change, garlic and ginger also works wonders.. Stay away from noodles. The list is long but I'll stop here.. Let me conclude here, blood pressure going up is totally normal and it goes up in different times of the day and in tandem with your body weight.. You can mention for further clarification. Danke.

There are two different types of htn. primary and secondary, 90% of most cases are primary which the cause is unknown. Secondary is caused by an underlying condition, they should have done some further test to determine if you have any underlying condition. But if there is none, the major predisposing factor is genetics, which you should commence treatment Asap. I would have suggested a diuretic is started cause of the NA content in the body which can increase blood volume subsequently exerting more pressure on the arteries.

1. Family history of high BP?

2. Many people do not know how to check BP accurately.

3. He should have placed you on 60mg Nifedipine ER and 50mg losartan potassium.

Just be greatful it was discovered on time. Many are dead due to ignorance of having a high blood pressure in them. Locate a good doctor and follow his prescriptions. Adjust to a healthier lifestyle and be happy. We all have one or two battles we fight. God is still God!

DICO111:

HBP is a silent killer and you can't afford to take it lightly.

These tips will really help you a great deal:
1.Stop taking beer that is number one.
2.Reduce stress and find time to rest
3. Reduce the amount of salt in your food.
4. Avoid food/ vegetable oil with high cholesterol
5. Once a while, find take to do slight exercise e.g like jogging or taking a stroll around.
6.Above all, pray and love the Jesus Christ cos He heals all diseases.

It is well with you in Jesus name
