LikeAking:I agree in private schools teachers are paid less thats if they actually get paid their full salary at the end of the month but that doesn't stop the school from collecting 150-250k from each student. |

It's so annoying. Even private schools that look like public school would be charging ridiculously high school fees in the name of private school or Montessori school! |

Doyou2019: You don't enrollment students in a federal government college. You take competitive entrance examinations and your candidacy must be through a government approved primary school. In summary, the Nigerian education system does not support home schooling at primary level. |

Blessedmercy8:There are families doing it here in Ibadan. I met a child who came to write the ISI exam( University of Ibadan high school) last year and she was actually homeschooled. The mom got her a good lesson teacher and she scored 87% which was one of the highest marks last year. When you check results of NTIC mathematics competition online, under primary school attended some children have HS, which stands for homeschooled. How they do it when it's time to go in for secondary admission is what I don't know. But they are doing it. 2 Likes |

Alfred Noble (the founder of Noble Price) never attended formal education but yet through what he learnt at home from his home tutor; he was able to invent dynamic and synthetic. Today some schools' are no more interested in teaching a child but to uplift the school status in order to make money |

LikeAking: But tbh, the public schools are nothing to write home about. Too many local kids and local teachers. Is that where you want your kids to go? Where they won’t be able to express themselves well in good English? And mingle with children of local market women and road side mechanics? Is that really what you want? Good things don’t come cheap be it a nice apartment/environment, school etc |

LikeAking: Exactly bro. Employers and company owners just looking for cheap labors up and down. They don’t even know what will hit them. I am in the Agric sector, most farmers are struggling now to get cheap yearly paid farm workers again. Gone are the days you will use someone in the farm for a year and pay them 120k after a whole full year in the farm. They are all complaining nobody wants to work in the farm again that youths are now lazy. Lazy nkwa. So they want to be rich why workers are penniless. Poultry workers oo, piggery, catfish farm workers, bakery etc the owners will keep complaining of workers running or stealing their things if they don’t raise wages to a reasonable height. How will you pay a graduate teacher 15/20k for God sake. Just fcking $30/40 dollars per month? A whole graduate? After how many years in school? 2 Likes |
