Was the water in the oil much or little?

The water wasn't much actually. I think we caught it early.

Drain engine oil, get fresh oil and new filter to observe.

Okay. Will do. Thank you boss.

What material do you advise for the head gasket? I got an asbestos one before, but I'm thinking it might not be good enough.

Don’t touch the gasket yet. I still suggest asbestos.

Upstream air/fuel sensor. It is a broadband oxygen sensor.

It may have failed.
Or connections issues.

My friend just bought a Honda Accord 2008 4plugs with engine misfires, rough idle, poor fuel economy and hard gear shifting.

Engine scan revealed the following faults C1555, C0700 and P2185.

Do kindly advise.

Thank you

P2185 is a code for ECT sensor 2
For the bolded, what scan tool did you use to scan the car pls?
Get a very good scan tool to scan it, a scan tool that is compatible with your car. The codes are somehow.

Shaking from the steering anytime I march brake.
And vibrating and sometimes perceived oil smell.
My repairer say it's bad coil that is causing the vibrating and oil smell.
Re: Tell Us Your Car Fault Lets Assess And Fix Them by Mecoy(m): 3:58pm On Nov 03, 2022
Culprit has been identified. We will have to repair/ replace it at Ladipo. Mexhanic will take otvthere tomorrow. How much does this cost? And based on experience, does the replacement/repair usually last?

Mecoy:
I am having a suspected transmission issue with my 2007 Lexus ES 350 and I'm in need of a reliable gear expert in Abeokuta.

This is a summary of the problem:
1. I had an accident in April with the car where in order to avoid a careless driver, I swerved hard, lost control and hit the driver's tyre/side on the median kerbs on Lagos Ibadan expressway. Brake disc broke and shaft pulled out. It was replaced immediately by the nearest mechanic to the accident scene. Further repairs were done gradually.

2. In June/July, I had a mechanic check the car in Ilorin to fix all the noise on the front tires. He changed linkages, ball joints and greased the shaft cup which was low on grease.

3. After he fixed it, I traveled the next day, but the car had a lot of unusual vibrations, especially one gentle and repeated vibrations that comes once in a while. Vibration is usually noticed between 40 and 100Km/hr. Mechanics tried to trace the vibrations but couldn't get it. In the process of tracing the vibrations, the shaft was suspected and it was cleaned twice. Once it was 'packed' with rubber and my mechanic in Ilorin faulted the rubber packing and removed it and cleaned thoroughly.

4. In September, I noticed something unusual in the transmission, there was always a delay when switching from gear 2 to gear 3. It wasn't frequent and most times, mechanics didn't notice it during test drive. During inspection, it was noticed that the gearoil sump had hit something and was deformed. Mechanic asked me to drop the car to allow it cool before working on the sump to beat it back to shape. He did this and changed the oil. Please note that I have always used original Toyota WS gear oil for this car, never compromised. He topped with 4 litres oil which he claimed was sufficient.

5. I got back to Ilorin and realized that the problem wasn't solved, there was still a delay switching from gear 2 to 3. I had it scanned by someone who noticed an error, I checked it online, it was something about solenoid which affects the switch from gear 2 to 3, but the guy cleared the error without saving them.
I took it to another gear specialist in Ilorin, he had it scanned but the scan turned out to be okay. Nothing was wrong with the gear and engine. He only advised me to top the gear oil with 2 litres which I did before traveling back to Abeokuta.

6. I traveled back to Abeokuta and the problem was still there, at some point when I was almost in Abeokuta, the car had difficulty moving and was vibrating, I parked, turned off the engine, turned it back on after a few seconds and everything was fine, I continued my journey, but with the transmission delays. The car is currently in Abeokuta, working, but with the transmission delay.
I don't want to travel with it anymore and I don't want to have any trial and error done by just any mechanic. I need trusted hands to check it here in Abeokuta. I don't want to risk driving it down to Lagos.

Please I need a trusted hand that can work on the car and save me from a transmission replacement.

Location of the car?
Shaking from steering could be either Tie-rod ends or brake rotors. For perceived oil smell, your car needs to be physically checked to know what’s going on.

Well unfortunately I didn't ask for the codes
They only scanned for plugs, air flow meter, air filters all were good, but got this check engine light I was told its a steering sensor, I got the srs light and esp light
I even replaced the catalytic converter with that of China yet just a little improvement

I still suggest you scan for codes and also ensure your brakes are not binding, your axles have differential fluid have appropriate fluid and at appropriate levels, ensure your wheels are aligned and are factory recommended tyre sized and pressures.

Check and replace PCV valve with a working type. If oil level drops still occur, Then your engine is smoking.

My 2009 Toyota Sienna XLE timing chain broke again for the second time. Can this engine still be fixed or I should opt for another engine?
Re: Tell Us Your Car Fault Lets Assess And Fix Them by Opeoluwabukola: 3:19pm On Nov 05, 2022
I drive 2009 Toyota Sienna, just before the timing chain got broken, I was hearing a strange noise from the engine. After broke, my mechanic fixed it, but the noise did not stop until the chain broke again. Is it possible to fix it by a very competent mechanic or I should just buy another engine?
