Could this be another format of looting? They will just dish out figures and tell you that the rest was stolen by oil thieves. Who will trace the thieves to know the exact amount stolen? Bank managers and armed robbers format. It is well with this Country.

Hmmn.

I need we need to start telling ourselves the truth.

We can no longer continue to be an oil economy. Asides from the wanton degradation of the natural habitat of the Niger Delta, it has also led to the emergence of so called "oil barons" who have used ill gotten wealth from illegal oil bunkering to foster and forment trouble within Nigeria.

Actually, there has been a lot of improvement by the government especially the current one to improve other sectors of the economy such as Agriculture, Services and Digital economy. So as the moment, more efforts need to be geared towards reducing the oil component of GDP from its current ~10% to less than 5%.

That way we will become more resilient, wean ourselves off the "resource curse" and broaden our economic base which will lead to economic development.

We shouldn't also forget taxation. We need to increase our tax base and also tax ourselves more. For our society to develop, we need to earn more revenue for budgetary spending. To earn more revenue, we need to bear the pain of increased taxation.

Better soup, nah money kill am o!

It is well.
Our best bet to replace oil revenues quickly is the digital economy especially in fintech services in my opinion and then a formalised trade and Agriculture.
We can also focus on gas to Europe as a third major revenue service if we complete gas project s. Obasanjo had foresight and did well with some gas projects but these projects were abandoned by both Yar Adua and Jonathan while Buhari only picked them up again late into his tenure. We can be a real gas economy too within the next two years just behind Russia.

This report is a classic example of how Nigerians shoot themselves in the foot.

The illegal oil bunkerers are NIGERIANS...NIGER DELTANS. Government too is complicit as well. Security...they no do.

And we are paying a known oil bunkerer billions to guard the pipes....

We are not serious. At the end, anyway, we can blame the Hausas. And the British.... cheesy

It could be...but the fact is, there has been mass stealing going on in the delta for years. So, not surprised.

Most Usless gov ever. The height of incompetence. Is there any sector these charlatans have not destroyed?
See the fellow they made minister. Someone that was governor for few years and accumulated over 100 houses, you then make him minister, watin you think say go happen? Someone that had never worked in the oil industry. The only growth will be in his stomach.
2015 when they attacked Tompolo, claiming a new sheriff was in town we knew it will lead to reduced production. But people here were hailing. 7 years down the like after oil production has been destroyed, they have gone back to settle with the same Tompolo. No. Be juju be that?

*Behold the NNPC Limited (NNPCL) new management team:*

1. Mele Kyari (GMD)

2. Umar Ajiya (Chief Finance Officer/Finance and Accounts)

3. Yusuf Usman (Chief Operating Officer)

4. Farouk Garba Sa’id (Chief Operating Officer, Corporate Services)

5. Mustapha Yakubu (Chief Operating Officer, Refining and Petrochemicals)

6. Hadiza Coomassie (Corporate Secretary/Legal Adviser to the Corporation)

7. Omar Ibrahim (Group General Manager, International Energy Relations)

8. Kallamu Abdullahi (GGM Renewable Energy)

9. Ibrahim Birma (GGM Governance Risk and Compliance)

10. Bala Wunti (GGM NAPIMS)

11. Inuwa Waya (MD NNPC Shipping)

12. Musa Lawan (MD Pipelines And Product Marketing)

13. Mansur Sambo (MD Nigeria Petroleum Development Company)

14. Lawal Sade (MD Duke Oil/NNPC Trading Company)

15. Malami Shehu (MD Port Harcourt Refining Company)

16. Muhammed Abah (MD Warri Refining and Petrochemical Company)

18. Salihu Jamari (MD Nigeria Gas and Power Investment Company Limited)

19. Mohammed Zango (MD NNPC Medical Services)

20. Sarki Auwalu (Director, Department of Petroleum Resources)

When you look at the top 20(twenty) positions in NNPC management, you will know who is responsible for crude oil theft “officially”. A nepotic cabal runs all the critical positions that can allocate, load and release products. The thieves are not in the creeks and swamps. They’re in the air conditioned offices, speaking the same language and praying together. No one is a fool.

Oil is not use for cars alone.

The demand for oil won't go down even in 2030

Most of the energy generated by all those big countries majority of it come from oil, only few percent come from other sources. So even with electric car all over the world, countries will still depend on oil.

*Another Murder, Another Shaykh!!!*

We Demand for Justice

Shaykh Ibrahim Iyiorji was attacked at his house in Isu, Onicha LGA of Ebonyi State, on Sunday night, 4th of September, 2022 by gunmen alleged to be members of the terrorist group IPOB, which has a track record of targeting Muslims in the South-Eastern region and attacking their places of worship.

He was rushed to the Federal Teaching Hospital Abakaliki but eventually died on yesterday, Monday 5th September, 2022.

Who targeted and murdered Shaykh Ibrahim Iyiorji? What was his crime to die in such a gruesome situation- murdered in cold blood in front of his family members? Who are those specifically targeting the Muslims of the South-Eastern states, who are largely indigenous to the area and now currently under existential threat due to domestic acts of terrorism? It will be remembered that MPAC has repeatedly called the attention of the government, the law enforcement agencies and the good people of this region to the growing threats faced by Muslims in this region, the dangers posed to freedom of practice of Islam and attacks on mosques. Once again, the government, the law enforcement agencies and the human right groups need to do more to ensure that these tragic stories end with this unfortunate incident of the murder of Shaykh Iyiorji. As we mourn the death of the Shaykh, and commiserate with his family and immediate community, we call on the governments of the South-Eastern region of Nigeria to take responsibility for the lives and properties of the Muslims living in the region, and save them from incessant attacks by those determine to exterminate them and eradicate the practice of Islam in the region.

We call on the Nigerian Government to act now to ensure that no Nigerian carries a price tag as a result of the religion he or she practices anywhere in Nigeria.

Shaykh Ibrahim Iyiorji was murdered in his own house, and this is a murder too many. May Allah forgive Shaykh Ibrahim Iyiorji and accept him as a martyr.

Innah Lilahi Wa Innah Ilehi Rajihun

Disu Kamor
Executive Chairman
MPAC Nigeria.
