My Ugly Experience With My Landlady Sister. by valnino(m): 5:00pm On Sep 09, 2022
Good evening nairalanders, please I will make this thread brief as possible. I had an ugly experience in the hands of my shop owner sister. I wanted to expand my business last year so I sought for a shop in another town far from where am currently staying, after I got a shop and paid for two years rent. I renovated the shop to my taste.
After one month I officially opened the shop for business but it didn't work out as I planned. I barely makes sales there so after 4 months I vacated the shop with my goods but before I left the shop I told my landlady that I want to sublet the shop to another person to enable me recover some of the money that I spent there and she said that it's okay that I should put it up for rent.
So I put a sign Infront of the shop that shows that it's for rent and I handed the key to my neighbor who does alumaco work beside me to look after the shop for me while am away. I told him that if anyone wants to inspect the shop that he should open it for the person and he said okay. I wanted to travel to Nigeria then for my late Father's funeral so I told him to keep me updated via WhatsApp . This happened around april this year while I was away he told me that people are coming to inspect the shop and someone wants to pay for the shop but the person said that she will pay directly to the shop owner to avoid stories and I said okay no problem meanwhile my landlady sister stays in the same line with us. She was aggrieved that I didn't give her the shop key before I left so she went and collected my shop key from the person that I gave the key and rented the shop out since two months now and she didn't inform the person that I gave my key to keep for me that someone have rented the shop.
When I came back from travel I asked the person that I gave my key about my shop and he told me that my landlady sister collected the key from him and he didn't want to drag it with her so he gave her the key. I was annoyed with him ,
I asked him why will he give my key to someone without informing me and pleaded with me that he didn't want to have problem with my landlady sister that the woman is a troublesome human being. I had to call my landlady to ask her about the shop to know if someone have rented the shop and she said yes that someone have rented the shop and that my money is with her sister that I should go and collect it from her . She expressed shock that her sister have not given me the money since two months that they gave her money to give me. I was enraged I called my landlady sister today and she told me that she have used the money that she didn't know that I will need the money now. She said that she will send the money to me by month end but I said no that I will only give her one week for look for the money. She didn't even tell my neighbor to call me so that I will come and collect my money . Some people are heartless. The money in question is just for one year. She didn't have pity on me I paid for two years and only stayed there for four months and I also used my money to construct shelf in the shop and put ceiling in the shop with other minor expenses but I didn't demand for total refund but she still held on to the one year that her sister gave her to me . This is what we go through in the hands of some unfortunate Ghanaians.
Had it been that am the one that did this to them they will say that Nigerians are fraudsters. It really pained me.

Obviously, this happened in Ghana.
Since she promised that she will refund you by month end, hold on till then, if she doesn't, you can involve the police.
