You would like that everything in your relationship simply returns to how it was.

2. You feel nauseous at the prospect of them with someone else.


Though not out of jealousy or possessiveness, your stomach turns and the hair on your arms stands up when you imagine your significant another hooking up with someone else. Even though you’re not yet ready to take the necessary steps to get it back, it sickens you to realize that you’ve lost something so priceless: the secure, loving closeness that once defined your relationship.

There isn’t anybody else you’d prefer spending time with, despite the fact that hanging out lately invariably results in arguments. Even if things are too tense to risk dissecting television plots, you still want to binge-watch Netflix with your partner or girlfriend. You never go “too far” in your fights. Even when the arguments turn heated, you still refrain from saying unpleasant things. You are never able to enter the completely dark space from which there is no way back.
