As Nigeria marks her 62nd Independence Day Anniversary today, the Labour Party candidate for Nnewi South Constituency II (Anambra State House of Assembly) in the forthcoming 2023 general election, Hon. Ifeanyi Jerome Igwe has called on Christians and Nigerians at large to continue to pray for the country for divine intervention in the challenges currently facing the nation.

Hon. Igwe gave the charge in his Independence Day felicitation message issued to newsmen on Saturday, October 1, 2022.

He noted that the country seriously needs God's intervention in numerous challenges facing it at the moment including insecurity, economic crunch, poor standard of living, ineffective leadership, among others.

He also opined that it is high time Nigerians came together and rebuild their country, leaving tribal and religious affiliation behind, for the country's indivisibility, progress and all-round development, as well as safety of life and property.

As a concerned Nigerian and development advocate, Hon. Igwe decried the level of hunger, insecurity, injustice and marginalization that have persisted in the land over the years, and harped on the need for Nigerians to get it right this time in selecting their leaders and representatives.

Hon. Igwe, who is vying to represent the good people of Ebenator, Ukpor, Ezinifite, and Akwaihedi in the Anambra State House of Assembly under the platform of the Labour Party, also used the opportunity to call on Ndị Nnewi South, Ndi Anambra, and Nigerians at large, to vote for good governance during the 2023 general election.

Felicitating with Nigerians, he advised everyone to vote with their conscience during the election, and not for monetary material gains, as many have always done, to avoid developmental retrogression tendencies that abound in bad governance.

“Nigeria will be great again if we work together in unity and get it right this time,” he said.
