Christian Jentle Eni (Sheikh Abdul)
Christian was born to the family of Rose and James Eni on October, 13th 1971. He grew up in Benin City, Edo State where he attended Eweka Primary School, Useh. He proceeded from there to Ika Grammer School, Agbor and later to Useh Grammer School where he wrote his WAEC examination.
Growing up Christain was a lot of fun to be with , he could crack your ribs with jokes and was very witty, Christian would dress his clothes up as manikin and leave it on his bed and cover it up with his sleeping wrapper and go out at night / or early morning church activity and when you enter his room you will just assume he was sleeping and so walk away not knowing it's manikin. Jentle Eni proceeded to *ESUT* where he read *mass communication* and whilst there his other name was *missions*. He woke and slept with Mission in his lips. In Esut ( Nifes) he took brethren from one hinter village to another within Enugu, Anambra and other parts of Nigeria just for mission work. He woke up brethren's interest to mission saying that city christainity was christainity of convenience.
His popular saying was *"You are eating or sleeping or wearing clothes whilst souls are perishing"* He made everyone around him to be mission sensitive either by direct or indirect involvement. For him the only language he understood was mission *Who can I send, who will go for us, if we do not preach, how will they hear, if they don't hear, how will they believe*. He served in Taraba state in 96/97 year which further deepen his love for mission seeing lots of Muslim unsaved.
There's hardly a village or town in Nigeria that Jentle Eni did not visit in his life time.
In the Early years of his work, Jentle Eni named his ministry, *Global Missionary Network*. The name which he later changed to *"Missions Aid Fellowship" in the year 2001* .
Jentle Eni's ministry was focused on showing God's love to the Muslim world.
Jentle, in his life time, touched not less than *fourty five* countries of Africa and Middle East, training men on how to show the love of God through the Lord Jesus Christ to the Muslim world.
*Jentle Eni was a normad for Jesus.*
At some point he had to change his name to Sheikh Abdul because he wanted to touch all Muslims.
Jentle Eni devoted his life to Missions, so much that, after NYSC, he learnt how to speak and write in
Arabic language, Fulfulde,
Tuareg and
French.
Jentle moved freely with Muslim Brothers eating and sleeping in their midst for many years and was hardly noticed.
*Appearance*
He dressed like the Arabs because of his deep conviction, love for the Muslim world and he will say to live is Christ and to die is gain. He died daily to God and had a resolute belief on mission. On several occasions, he faced persecution for preaching the gospel but in it all he was more than conqueror until this sickness came and buffet his body, he fought, he stood in faith, the saints prayed, he held on until he gave in to GO HOME.
*MARRIAGE*
Jentle Eni got married to the love of his life, Toyin. Their love journey started in Taraba State 1998 and they got married in December, 2001. Toyin is the daughter of Late Rev. Michael Ijagbemi of ECWA/SIM. Toyin could not travel much as a mother of three children, She worked courageously taking care of the home front, allowing her husband in season and out of season, to face the mission work. Jentle and Toyin's union was blessed with three Children: Jewel, Sharon and Blossom Eni.
A week before he passed on, he put an update on the state of his health and the mission trips he had to make and he started by saying although it may not end in our favour ( talking about his demise) but that he was struggling between staying here for mission work and going home knowing that his body will be quickened, he finally gave heed to the call to come home by the night of 27th July, 2022.
Oh! what a loss to the body of Christ then to his Church/ Mission outfit and to his family.
Adieu we will miss you, till we meet again REST IN PEACE, Jentle.
