What does the history of violence have to do with anything?

We are saying that the man had a right to be angry with his wife for recieving that kind of money and hiding it. You cant tell me that because he had been violent in the past, hiding the money was meant to protect her.

And obviously, my saying "the community" is hyperbole to demonstrate the fact that the fact she had the money was common knowledge at least to the extent that someone felt the need to come and tell him.
