The three justices of the Appeal Court that sat on the panel that dismissed the 15-count terrorism charge the Federal Government instituted against Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, have been moved from their various divisions.

Recall that the Appeal Court recently held that Kanu’s extradition from Kenya to Nigeria did not follow due process and was a flagrant violation of Nigeria’s extradition treaty and a breach of his fundamental human rights.

This was disclosed in a memo dated October 17, which was signed by the President of the Court of Appeal, Justice Monica Dongban-Mensem.

The memo emphasized that the new posting for the justices was with immediate effect and that they were expected to report to their new stations by October 21.

According to the memo, the presiding justice, Jummai Hanatu Sankey, who previously was in the Gombe Division of the court, has been transferred to Awka Division, whereas Justice Oludotun Adetope-Okojie who delivered the lead judgement, was moved to Owerri, while Justice Ebiowei Tobi, the third member of the court panel was transferred to Gombe.

That judgement is bizzare and a huge mockery of the judiciary. I really hope those judges were not bribed.

So weird judgement that makes the judiciary demotivate patriotic members of the intelligence community.

It is so strange that a fugitive threatening even the judge on his case is suddenly set acquited when the judge declared him wanted and gave a legitimate order to fetch the fugitive. Any sick person can wake up tomorrow and set Nigeria ablaze and some judges will mock the victims on the account of technicality smh.

Our judiciary is not consistent at all and I pray God helps the new CJN.

Even though i dislike Nk........but, AGF Malami and Buhari behave like typical Taliban. They quench someone's stupidity with more stupidity.
Malami behaves like atypical Mallam, not an educated learned fellow.
Their actions are more primitive than that of the criminal himself.

Nothing wrong with the Postings

Racoon:
"..
Chief....... This is what I think happened.
Posting happens normally every two years. The last one was in 2020 Oct/Nov or so.

One also happened in 2021 because of the 18 Judges that were sworn-in that year.

Now, the Courts were on vacation since July till I think September. Some Justices are asked to stay back as Vacation Judges to cover certain jurisdictions for cases that time is of essence.
This case was given to these ones because of perhaps, their experience. Once vacation is over, they go back to their PPAs.

If all goes to plan, Sankey will succeed this Appeal Court President.
Adefope-Okojie has been a Judge since 1996.

Those three who handled Kanu's case, none were in Abuja before now but only served as Vacation Judges.

Justice Sankey was Presiding Justice at the Gombe Division (now sent to Awka Division)

Justice Adefope-Okojie was at Owerri Division. (She remained there)

Justice Tobi was also at the Gombe Division. (He remained there)

The illegal manner of arrest in a foreign land and subsequent extradition to Nigeria itself was a gross illegality. The world have their attention on this case. Meanwhile, this same modality have never been used on any killer bandits, fulani or BH terrorists..
