Ahead of the imminent naira redesign a lady has revealed bundles of N200 naira notes printed about 20 years ago and never been in circulation that was given to her husband at the recently.

She displayed the clean minted naira notes as she carefully highlighted the date of production of the naira notes and the serial number which followed up accordingly. The fact that the money had never been in circulation since it’s date of production left her in shock.

The 2002 and 2007 notes are from politicians that were in position from 1999 to 2007.

The NIN or BVN then, the banking system no too dey sophisticated like today so they withdrew huge sums and stored at home.

Storage of raw cash like naira is a muslim/northerners thing. Because they are illiterate.

I doubt if an igbo man or people from south south will store raw cash like that. They either buy gold or property
