Twitter Inc., after laying off roughly half the company on Friday following Elon Musk’s $44 billion acquisition, is now reaching out to dozens of employees who lost their jobs and asking them to return.

Some of those who are being asked to return were laid off by mistake, according to two people familiar with the moves. Others were let go before management realized that their work and experience may be necessary to build the new features Musk envisions, the people said, asking not to be identified discussing private information.

Elon just wants to run twitter to the ground. No be all businesses every business person can handle, he really does not have any business buying and trying to run twitter. Dangote tried it with noodles, found out it wasn't an area he can survive, he sold off and left. I see twitter may finally be sold off to Mark

Human beings. Elon Musk is a clown? Meanwhile the the only thing you have done is WAEC. It is really easy for people who have not truly built anything to lose touch of reality. Exactly the way APC has been doing

Very simple and sweet deal for negotiators

A new contract with 2.5x salary and a clause mandating a payout of $5 million if fired again within the next three years. If they agree you go back, if not you got nothing to lose

They are probably desperate now after realizing something can just be carried out without the initiators and maintainers.

This is how you demystify yourself.

As it is they should all go and work with Jack Dorsey on whatever he is putting together. Let twitter become the new truth social.

This is a big lie, same Elon musk that said he paid sacked employees 50% 3 months severance packages and benefits above the legal requirements, why would he call them back? Any tweet that doesn't come directly from Musk is a big lie.

I hope the people they "mistakenly sacked" will mistakenly get better job offers elsewhere and not mistaken go back to Twitter where they're likely to be mistakenly sacked AGAIN

Na wah.

Having made skilled workers redundant out of his own "error", such skilled workers must renegotiate their terms and contract, before returning.

But I think largely that Elon Musk, would have looked at the costs, in terms of several suits filed by the laid off workers. It would make better sense to return them to work, than to pay several millions in severance pay, via the courts, to the retrenched staff.
