Ghana government really fvcked up watching helplessly when those trade unions victimising foreign Africans doing business in Ghana. Telling individuals to register their businesses with huge amount of money greater than their capitals, forcing them to close shops and telling them leave Ghana. What did they expect would happen to their economy in the long run?

Like Nigeria did in the 70's under Murtala and OBJ's indigenisation policy in support of the anti apartheid quest. A whole chunk of industry was lost. Today we are running around looking for foreign investors.

Nigeria has never had visionary leadership or been governed by truly knowledgeable people.

Why comparing pumping station with corporate headquarters. It shows the level of rigidity of our mind to prove a point that does not worth it! This analogy is trash going by Water Sanitation and Hygiene frame work.

But that 'pumping station' is an eyesore. Looks like something out of a 60's movie and shows how we have scant regards for public health and safety. For heaven's sake it is supposed to relay potable water.

The governor can auction one of his old armoured SUV's to sort out the place.... values...

Show me a single project build and commission by Tinubu throughout his tenure.
By the way.

That Waterworks was commissioned by Mr. Lord Luggard, the then Governor General of Lagos, in 1915 at Obun Eko Area of Lagos. The Iju treatment plant has a design capacity of 2.4million gallon per day (MGD) and was constructed primarily to supply Water to the Colonial residents of Ikoyi in those
days.

They have flooded this thread.

Bad news from other countries makes them excited so they can use it to justify the incompetence of APC & their paymasters.

We should be comparing ourselves with great and thriving nations not Ghana, Venezuela, etc.

You guys should be ashamed of yourselves.

You that should is not ashamed, what great thing can you compare yourself with? Is your village, state of origin or your region worth being proud of? All you do is denigrate your country regularly and blame people that didn't stop you from progressing for your misery.

We’re exactly are you…

The equivalent of 1000 naira is about 10 cedis…

As for purchasing power naira is better.

If you eat 10 cedis food in Ghana you will not get satisfied. You have not even started. that’s for a meal. I can bet 1000 naira can get you at least two meals.

A bottle of beer is 9 cedis… equivalent of about 900 naira at the road side bar. Not some posh club o!

So that should give you a perspective of the purchasing power of both currencies.
lie by exchange 9 cedis is equivalent to 450 naira

Bro you know it very well. You won't believe how much I spend weekly!! My wife went to market recently and 2000 cedis had no impact!! I went to the kitchen and was like "babe you didn't go to the market again"? She went but bro a bag of nigerian rice now sells at 700 cedis in madina market and 25kg of vegetable oil sells at 600 cedis now how much is left? No matter how bad things are in nigeria, you won't say 200k naira won't stock your kitchen
2000 cedis is not 200k rather 100k . get your facts right

by official it's supposed to 31 . if you exchange cedis to #100 that means you are exchanging 1$ to #1500. haba. because last time I checked 1$ is equivalent to 15 cedis.

It doesn't work that way. It is not by logic or theory. Practically, it is by market forces . It is because of the poor West and Central Africa countries around Nigeria our currency cannot be strong against Dollar. One rich man in the midst of poor family members is also a poor man.

He is surely using google converter…

Why is he also converting first to dollar before back to cedis?

Some things are just practical and no matter how you explain it some would not understand except there are in the particular situation or share the personal experience and not just the theory alone.

this is what i said yesterday
cedis to naira is around 19.70 /1000naira (please confirm from others)
cedis to dollars is like 15.00/ 1dollar

and as at this morning , the cedis to naira rate is high due to the fact that the dollar is falling in Nigeria
cedis to naira is likely to be around, 20ghc to 1000 naira today
cedis to dollars is likely to still stick to around 15 ghc to 1 us dollar

exchange rates may fluctuates as govt crackdown on black market intensifies .
