We also thought the Russian army was sophisticated prior to the invasion till we started seeing images out of Ukraine and the war being held on for over 8months with Ukraine making significant gains.

A nuclear war head doesn't have to be sophisticated before it causes damage, hence, why North Korea and some other countries like Pakistan all have one for themselves. A nuclear war head can cause extensive damage irrespective of whether it's sophisticated or not.
